Love that you keep it so real with an actual kitchen like what a lot of us are cooking in. I've felt the same way with rental kitchens through the years and it's never been ideal but made it work and was still able to grow my business and find a lot of success. Great video, love your channel and always learn a lot!

Thank you for sharing this with us. I have not finished setting up a studio for non-cooking shots yet. You have both given me some ideas and reinforced some that I had already considered. Speaking of "manifesting"... you are doing awesome man, don't say "if" so much, throw a "when" in there once in a while.

Here's a thought for your dream video studio: use a scaffold-type framework suspended from the ceiling to support your lights and other necessities. Hang stuff where you need it and use no floor space. Your cabling can be routed through cable runs and be kept out of the way.

Such an awesome setup! Love all the helpful tips! We've done a few vids that we find a bit embarassing with the change in lighting, some too dark, some attempted to color correct, but uploaded anyway. We don't want to take it down because of the views it already gained, but hope to improve from it, so look forward to your video regarding lighting and color temp. The container kitchen/studio setup is a great idea!

Thank you for showing your setup, it gives KZbin beginners like myself ideas on how to improve my food review channel! . Have you thought of using a Rode Wireless GO with your Rode VideoMic NTG? (Then you don’t have to run a lengthy cord from camera to microphone). I currently use this setup for my in studio videos and the wireless makes for easy setup and no cord tangles or tripping hazards. I wonder if the audio is better, worse, or the same if plugged directly into my camera with a 3.5mm extension cord or not though…
@PhilipLemoine3 жыл бұрын
This is a great questions and such an amazing idea if people never thought of it. I have done this before and it does work. BUT I love that the NTG has the ability to record at 2 levels with a safe -20 track. I think when you run it into the rode wireless go to transmit the audio to the camera I lost this option.... Actually .... damn im not sure now imma check it again!
@PhilipLemoine3 жыл бұрын
Okay just double checked and yeah I lost the ability to doe duel track reordering with one track bing -20. I like having that safe track because sometime my audio peaks for things like when I put a steak down for the first time and the noise from the sear is really loud. I cant really "test" those shots to I do my best but sometimes my -0 db one will blow out. andI fall back on my -20 db track.
@bestinkamloops3 жыл бұрын
@@PhilipLemoinethat makes sense then why you’d prefer to plug directly into your camera. The safety track is a nice feature on the NTG. I haven’t messed around with the -20 dB safety track recording with my NTG mic yet, maybe I’ll give it a try on my next video - thanks for the tip!
