Rap was RESCUED in 1998?!? Are you referring to rap being commercially successful or musically successful? Although the hip-hop/r&b of the time may have been fun & entertaining, most of the 1990's were the pits in terms of any artistic value, with only a few acts of the time creating anything worth while (Outkast is surely one of them, being one of the greatest hip-hop acts of all time). Producers like Puff Daddy & his sample-happy ass was the worst - he'd rip off an old song from the early 80's for the instrumental track & then rip off yet another song from the 70's for the hook, never bothering to check if these ripped-off songs were even the same key, which most of the time they weren't. He would then add claps, a heavy bass-line & then voila! The only original thing PD did back then was write lyrics - nevertheless they were absolutely STUPID lyrics. And to add insult to injury PD was endlessly talking over the songs he produced with his silly "eh-eh, eh-eh".
@mitchellalvarez2348 жыл бұрын

Sad to say music videos like these will not continue, but hopefully down the line they get them right......the 90's music videos just had something to them that made them feel just right (relatable). I remember going crazy for them when I was younger not just me, but the neighborhood kids too.
