Neat process but I have a few questions. When do you cut the grape vines to use in April? How long do you soak them in rooting hormone and is it in the final tub of water also?

Thank you for your comment and visiting my channel. I am very glad that you liked this video and that you found useful information in it for yourself. I harvest grape cuttings in autumn. I start rooting in April, and plant in the ground in May. In October-November, I plant the grown seedlings in a permanent place. I soak the grape cuttings in a solution with a root former for about 24 hours. After that I use only water.

Have you ever tried using an aquarium air pump to bubble air into the water? This is supposed to improve the strike rate, at least with some plants.

It’s July and I’m in a situation where I have a concord vine that was relocated. It’s about 5 yrs old and was never pruned or cut back. I know it shouldn’t have been moved until the cold comes here in Ohio but I had to move it if I didn’t want the guy to trash it. I took the time to get the entire root system with the hopes that it would be ok. It’s in shock. The grapes and leaves died off so I removed them. My question is can I cut the new green growth from this year off and root them? Or should I leave them on the vine for the rest of the summer and see if any growth comes back then cut it all back in the winter or early next spring. Someone else said to cut this years growth off and it would send out new shoots. Another said to just leave it be till winter. Idk what to do. If taking the green growth off and rooting them is the best chance of getting something out of it then I will do that but if leaving it on and let it be till it’s time to cut it back then that’s fine too. This is my first year growing grapes so I need some good sound advice. Like I said though I did dig up most of the entire root system

Creo que el sistema es bueno. Deberia explicar bien paso x paso.

Good video on starting grapes. But you never explain anything, when to take cuttings, what was the rooting hormone, where to cut the cutting your planting … when to plant out and how far apart …. Would like it explain a bit better… too many unexplained steps ..
@myamazinghomestead97746 ай бұрын
I appreciate your comment and visiting my channel. I'm very pleased that you enjoyed my video and found useful information in it. Be sure to try this rooting method, and you will see its effectiveness. For better rooting, we used the growth stimulator Grandis (1g per 1L of water). Additionally, you can use honey, which is a natural root growth stimulator, for better rooting of grape cuttings. We prepare the grape cuttings in October-November, root them in April, and plant them in open ground in May. The distance between the rooted cuttings should be 18-20 cm. In October-November, we transplant the grown grape bushes to a permanent location.
