Amazon just announced major changes to FBA reimbursement policies. What do you think about the shift to manufacturer costs?

Seems like a way for them to gain more data on your products as well. They find new ways to get you.
@MyAmazonGuy4 күн бұрын
Fair point. Amazon definitely has a knack for collecting data, though.
@alittlekiwi4 күн бұрын
yes… they’ll also use this data to see how much more they can squeeze you on profit margins

@@Peruvian.Lama74 I can 💯 see that happening all so they can make more money. They sometimes ask for invoices for reimbursement for that reason probably

Yes while the average seller has limited access to full AI functionality for generating market data. Big companies like Amazon have already been granted access to technology that I feel we aren't. Not exactly sure how that is considered a fair marketplace.

EVERYONE needs to complain about this. If all the sellers would do this, they would open their eyes and perhaps change it. But as usual, only a handful will take the time to send a complaint..........

Can we just provide a larger manufacturing cost? Do they verify it?
@MyAmazonGuy4 күн бұрын
Amazon doesn’t usually verify your manufacturing costs, they might do it now.

Its very easy for Amazon to know the manufacturers cost of most products because they themselves are connected to manufacturers and also buy/sell those products.. nothing is hidden from Amazon when it comes to inventory costs.
@Peruvian.Lama744 күн бұрын
Amazon is abusing its monopoly power. As sellers we should start small and go for "wins" we can get. When the new administration comes in on January, please urge your Senators and Congress people to end the practice of outsourcing tech support. Amazon's India and Philippines based seller central support is absolutely useless. A lot of Amazon problems and frustrations can be solved by hiring USA based tech support that can actually think and doesn't just read off a script. We can also sell this as bringing jobs back to the USA. Let's get this done!

This is gonna hurt. There is a quantity discrepency on I'd about half of my shipments to Amazon. It has been increasing over the past couple years actually. What really hurts is that freight and duties will not be counted. So we just have to factor in Amazon losing our products into our profit calculations now 😢
@MyAmazonGuy3 күн бұрын
Yep, this one stings. The quantity discrepancies are bad enough, but leaving freight and duties out of reimbursements? That’s just Amazon telling us to "deal with it.

I hope H10 and other service providers are not sharing our costs data with Amazon. What do you think?
@MyAmazonGuy4 күн бұрын
I’d say it’s worth trusting the tools you use, but always stay informed.

I'd be reading those terms and agreements.. there is a form generated via link by Seller Central if I remember right, when connecting accounts and third party access.

Should have another online marketplace.

Expanding to other marketplaces like TEMU, TikTok Shop, or even Walmart can provide a valuable safety net.

Yes, if* you have control of your product . I wonder if when determining the manufacturer cost by comparing similar products, is on a UPC level, or a more broad product type/ category level.@@MyAmazonGuy
