I do like the name of our Myanmar snack, hahaha and the snack itself is quite tasty too. By the way, is the male voice on the video your voice? If so, your Burmese is still very good. Unlike some Burmese who immigrated to other countries, I am proud to say that even after 40 years of living abroad, I can still read, write and speak Burmese fluently.

@@mayancho21 Mingalar par, thank you for your excellent response. Sometimes, I would forget the correct spelling in Burmese or the appropriate word to use when talking with Buddhist monks. Other than that, I am fine writing or speaking Burmese although I have been using English on a daily basis for the past 40 years or so. I always cook Burmese food at home, but only simple meals as cooking is not 'my cup of tea.'

@@mayancho21 Like you, I have never forgotten my roots. After having traveled to 40 plus countries around the world and living in several of them (I live in the US now) I have come to realize that my homeland of Myanmar is best of the best. I am not on Facebook so I don't know the abbreviations or misspellings of Burmese that are posted on it. What really turns me off is when I meet some people from Myanmar who became citizens of certain countries, and when I greet them or start talking to them in our native language, they reply, "Oh sorry, I don't speak Burmese, I am American, I am Australian, I am Canadian, etc." However, later on I find out that they still speak Burmese quite well!

@@mayancho21 Yes, we have more or less the same way of thinking, although we both left our homeland to better our lives in other countries, but always go back to our roots. By the way, do you live in England now?

I don't think it is the same. Appam is different. See this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4OvdZeNlM2fjaM at 16:00. We call this appam in Myanmar.

I used to eat deep fried snacks while I lived there. Now I have slightly bad cholesterol. So take care everyone. Deep fries are not good for your health.
