@DeftAtheist2 жыл бұрын
Very much same here. I don't like "restaurants" in the first place. I only want what the street peeps are selling. The people they feature on the show pour their lives into their jobs, and thus pour flavor and passion into their food. I'd rather eat on the train and on the street any day. Give me holes in the wall. Shops in alleys. The most amazing experience I had when I lived in San Francisco was walking the main strip in Chinatown, being approached by a little old lady who lured me into a dark and stinky alley with the promise of "eating gestures", and into the most amazingly well lit, gorgeous Chinese restaurants I've ever been to. It was like walking through the tiny door in Willy Wonka and finding THE GEM of all hidden restaurants. And they did NOT cater to American palates, which made it one of the best experiences I've ever had. I still smile when it comes to mind.
