"Hello Luke! I’m a huge fan from Myanmar, and I just wanted to express my gratitude for visiting our beautiful country! Watching your videos has always been so inspiring, but seeing you explore Myanmar was absolutely incredible. Your genuine curiosity, respect for the culture, and the way you connect with the local people really shows through in your videos. Myanmar is such a diverse and vibrant place with a rich history, and it’s amazing to see you showcasing both the beauty and the challenges we face. From the stunning temples of Bagan to the peaceful lakes in Inle, you’ve captured the spirit of Myanmar in such an authentic and heartfelt way. I loved how you interacted with the locals and immersed yourself in the unique experiences that Myanmar offers, like the delicious food and the traditional ways of life. I truly appreciate the positive message you’re sharing about Myanmar to the world. It’s so refreshing to see a KZbinr who genuinely cares about highlighting the beauty of our culture and people. It means a lot to me and many others here, as Myanmar is often misunderstood, and your visit brings a light of positivity. Your content always feels so real and relatable, and I hope that more people will be inspired to visit Myanmar and experience it the way you did. I’m sure that your videos will leave a lasting impression and help promote a deeper understanding of our country. Keep up the amazing work, Luke, and I look forward to seeing more of your adventures, especially any future trips to Myanmar! really sorry to see that you didn’t have the perfect tour experience in Mandalay. When it was a good time, Mandalay was full of tourists attractions and activities of course it was the last kingdom of Myanmar and many Myanmar heritages and traditional handicrafts were there to see. Besides, there are a lot of places to go around outside Mandalay like Inwa, one of the ancient cities, Maymyo aka Pyin Oo Lwin, the city of flowers and Minkun where one of the biggest bell of the world exists. It’s really sad to accept that to have fun in Mandalay in these days for a foreigner is to be drunk.

Mandalay is full of hidden gems! Beyond the famous tourist attractions, there are many natural sites that only locals know about, such as the 8 Steps Waterfall, A Thel Swel Taung (not sure how to translate that, haha), and Elephant Head Mountain. If you have more time, Elephant Head Mountain is worth the trip, even though it’s quite far, located at the border of Shan State and Mandalay Region. Don’t miss the scenic road to Pyin Oo Lwin, which passes by the beautiful Ye' Ywar Dam. There are so many other places I can’t even list them all. There is always something to explore. So Mandalay is not a boring city at all.

LOL. Mandalay is not Myanmar's most boring city. It is the second biggest city and the best city of Myanmar. A lot of people love it more than Yangon. “The meaning of ‘Mingalarbar’, Myanmar greeting word” Every nation has its own unique way of greeting others. Among the many I've encountered, here are a few examples: In Thailand, people use "Sawadi Khap" (males) or "Sawadi Kha" (females). In India, the common greetings are Namaste or Namaskara. In Laos, "Sabine" is the customary greeting. In China, people say Nihoung. In Malaysia, Salamat Datan is the preferred greeting. In the Philippines, Kumusta po kayo is the common phrase. In the UK and USA, informal greetings like "How is it going?" or "What's up?" are widely used. Each of these greetings carries its own special meaning. For instance, the Thai word "Sawadi" is derived from the Pali word "Suvatthi," meaning "may you be blissful." This word can be traced back to the Ratanasutta, where the phrase "Etena Saccena Suvatthi Hotu" was used. Over time, the pronunciation of "Suvatthi" evolved into "Sawadi" in the Thai language. When combined with the Thai words "Khap" or "Kha," it becomes "Sawadikhap" or "Sawadikha," respectively. Essentially, it conveys the same meaning: "may you be blissful." In Myanmar, the nationwide greeting is "Mingalabar." (While there are also ethnic-specific greetings, I'll focus on the universal one.) The word "mingala" also has its roots in Pali, with the original form being "Maṅgalaṃ." It translates to "the cause of development." The Buddha taught 38 methods to achieve prosperity in both the worldly and transcendental realms. These methods surpass the teachings of any modern-day thrift guide book in terms of practicality and depth. The ancient people of Myanmar coined the greeting "Mingalabar" as a reminder to one another, "Hey, guy, let's not forget the paths to prosperity." However, in today's society, despite the Buddha's teachings on the benefits of abstaining from alcohol ("Majjapānā Ca Saṃyamo - Not drinking alcohol is a source of prosperity"), one can often see these words prominently displayed on signboards outside Myanmar pubs. We should be calling out to our Lord Buddha, "Help us, help us! Look how prosperous and flourishing our country could be.
