When I was a young schoolboy in the early 70's, Don Revie finally won the F A cup, and I was so happy, I wrote him a letter to thank him for making my dreams come true, The man wrote back to me , and i treasured that letter , It made me feel special, Don Revie is a legend as far as I'm concerned.R I P great man.

In any of these documentaries I've seen on Leeds they never give Giles enough credit. It's always Hunter, Bremner, Charlton etc they mainly speak about but Giles was the genius on that team.

I was just a kid when that Leeds Chelsea final took place ! They reckon the replay would have been abandoned if played today as both sides would have had 4 or 5 sent off in the first half hour !! Even allowing for back then, how McCreadie stayed on after nearly killing Bremner (literally-look at it!) is a mystery

Don Revie was a great manager for Leeds utd, but....NOT for England why? we did not qualify for the last stages of euro 76, he walked out on and signed a massive money contract with the U.E.A. leaving England in a right state. On beating West Germany 2 - 0 in 1975.... this was a friendly match! so... on England HE DID NOTHING AND WALKED OUT ON US. As for his illness, that was sad, nobody wanted an ending to his life like that. So Leeds utd, he was GREAT! and with ENGLAND HE WAS SHAMFULL!.

What a sad americanism England 'sucked' ... the reality was this; our Football League system and our F.A. Cup - League Cup competitions [plus the three european competitions] hindered England's National Team as we did not have enough time for preparation before International matches. Other national Football Associations made apt arrangements to provide there National Teams with apt time periods before Internationals. As for Revie, he proved that he was a good club manager = L.U.F.C. .... as for England, he walked out on us, and left us in a right state ...That's A Fact.
