Happy New Year! Tortilla Flat campground looked great I would like to try staying there I don’t live far. You stayed near one of the most spooky and haunted mountains, the Superstition Mountain. People have gone missing a lot there over the decades. Good thing you weren’t looking for the Dutchman’s lost gold. 😉

The town is Tortilla Flat, so I called it Tortilla Flat Campground. That's what it was called when I was told about it as well. It is the campground in Tortilla Flat. 🤷‍♀️

@@MyBasicJourney hey, while you're in Quartzite can you explain a bit about the differences between the LTVA, which costs to stay there, and the free 14-day areas. What, if any, amenities each has, requirements (like being self-contained), etc. It might be helpful to anyone considering going there since the two BLM areas do differ a bit. Either way, it looked like a nice campground, and being in a National Forest, it's eligible for the Interagency Pass. That's a bonus for folks on a budget, such as seniors and those with disabilities.

Wow Tortilla Flats sure has changed since I've been there. There was no huge Campground like that. Of course I moved from Arizona over 20 years ago. I lived in Apache Junction and I lived in Mesa and I worked in Tempe well and Scottsdale and Phoenix LOL.

That was neat seeing you up at tortilla flat. i live close to apache junction and have been up there a thousand times. i love canyon lake . Now your at scadden wash. i was parked next to you last year up there when bob wells and other you tubers were all meeting in that spot. I will be at scadden wash about the second week in january. My daughter use to live in Chandler, AZ. While I visited her we did a day trip to the Superstion Mts but I haven't camped there. Another bucket list place. We will be in Q 1/21-1/30. I am sure it will be crowded when we get there. We have reservations and also meeting to camp with a group at LaPolmosa south. You are welcome for the card. Happy camper new year 2022.

Tortilla Flats is a fun place to have lunch. Usually live music playing during busy times. You use to be able to drive the windy gravel (and scary narrow) roads to Roosevelt Damn but the road was damaged by a storm a few years ago and hasnt been repaired yet. The Lost Dutchman is also worth a visit. Very touristy but still fun.

I was wondering when you would arrive here in Q. It's been super cold and windy and so much NOT like prior years but 'this, too, shall pass' is what I tell myself every day. I just pray for sunshine every day to keep the solar going. So far, so good. Love your video's, Chantelle, and ALWAYS love seeing little Joey. Such a good boy.
