Scandinavian folk duo My Bubba and longtime friend Elsa Håkansson have recorded some of their favorite folk songs - or Visor, as they are called in Sweden. Some of the songs are traditionals while others are written by well known poets like Cornelis Vreeswijk and folk singers, but all are songs that My Bubba grew up with and draw much inspiration from in their musical work - and have now decided to document in their own arrangements. The result is the personal album with songs that are sung intimately and with ease. To be enjoyed with friends and family.
This is the first single from the album My Bubba & Elsa sjunger Visor // Swedish Songs Scandinavian that is forthcoming in August 2017.

28/02/2019: what do i know better now? is it that i'm not magnificent, and yet i still can find my smirk in the mirror: wicked, cruel and kind, all at one? no, i don't think it's that. i think i know now of the mundane business of loving someone, 'it's not a victory march'-and i don't really care for hallelujahs. i also love that it is mundane, and also magnificent.

01/02/2023: that small room, that was so many years ago. but I still sit at the same desk, the same notes, songs too. I'm expecting the kibosh today, too sharp fangs from the flour sack. but it won't be so bad, there are other things I'd like to do, places I'd like to go. come what may, I'll be up the road.
