As person associated with RTO department Mumbai Central I guarantee you rto registration date matters more than Manufacturing year because the customer gets car to drive on road after payment RTO charges. I suggest buy in December register in January. Because rto papers hold more value when selling a car. We all do same here.

Kia is offering 70k discount on Sonet HTK+ diesel so costing 13 lac. It is April 2024 make and kept for display in showroom (not a test drive car). Showing 33 KM on Odo. Sonet giving some practical features like Push start/stop button, Auto folding ORVM, Automatic AC, Disk styled steel wheels 215/65 R16, Rear defogger, front parking censor, fog lamps, DRLs, Sunglass holder, dual Map lamps, boot lamp at cost of 50k which Venue don't offer in 12.50 lac. Sonet got an update in July so this display car is 8-9 month old manufactured. Updated Sonet feature doesn't really needed for me so would it be good choice purchase this display car. Will going to ask for extended warranty, New Battery and Engine oil change from dealer. Please suggest which option will be best choice.. Venue at 12.50 lac OR Sonet 13 lac? Any ways RTO registration will be Jan 2025.

registration date matters more than manufacturing date, because when you resale the sales display will be "registration date" not manufacturing date.......once the interested buyer comes and checks out, he would be more interested in condition of the car instead of manufacturing date..... i have seen 40k km car driving so much better than 10k km multiple times

And, looks like, Carens facelift will be launched in mid 2025. If you can wait, better go for the facelift model. Owning a facelift will be a more current model for years to come, and also will be 2025 manufactured. Both give you a better resale value.
