Marilyn is a fake fan who bashed Felip at a PPOP convention event. Felip posted it on social media with the caption "LOL crazy Marilyn." I think Marilyn, in the song PRIDE, represents the people who shame Bisaya people like Felip, calling them ignorant and uneducated, and making various derogatory claims. Felip used words that were funny and petty, The song's title "Pride" suits the song perfectly.

Many people thought SLOTH equates to laziness, though its actually much deeper than that. Its when you lose faith (wether your faith in higher being or someone or anything) you lose the will to live thus result to laziness to do anything anymore. I'm glad that you explained the real meaning of sloth and its obvious with the lyrics that Felip knows it too.

He switched from english to bisaya without any difficulties is very incredible! hhahaha I am a native bisaya speaker but can't even follow what he's singing hahaha but sounded so freakin gud. Felip is sooo bold coz no Filipino artist will release this type of album! That made us appreciate him more.❤❤❤❤

Remember these were not freestyle so they were easier to express b'coz the lyrics were all written down. So switching languages were smoothly done . It's like you when you learn somebody else's song, you learn the lyrics. Nonetheless, Felip is a beast. His songwriting is topnotch & he loves his craft. Hopefully, he would stay grounded. OHHH my goodness DaMien (esp OMEN II) is my ultimate fave horror film. I even bought the paperbacks.

@@MiaNurseres-id2ex Just because it's written doesn't mean he doesn't deserve the praise for the smooth switch in between languages. There are a lot of artists who switches in between at least two languages in a songs but not everyone is fluid in it. That is definitely something to do with the lyricism as well as the diction and pronunciation in the delivery of the song. I am a Bisaya myself, listens to kpop as well and when it comes to OPM where i am most critical when it comes to the use of the English language in those releases. Even with just a slight cringe on these 3 things (lyricism, diction & pronunciation) turns me off and I just have to say that Felip definitely nails these three in all of his songs.

Felip indeed did a great job in creating this masterpiece of him. As I understand,his FOES are the 7 sins. That is why it has to be the first track.This album may be his story.Then the last track is ACHE as he was able to surrender all his flaws to God. It's like his diary/ therapy session with a melody. Ache reminds me of when he was very depressed from the passing of his grandparents who took care of him since childhood. "All my wounds will find light". He's basically saying he's baring his sadness and emotions out to the public, hoping one day his heartaches will find healing. He got a butterfly tattoo with 2 skulls representing his grandparents. I think until now he's still grieving. He just put into a song all the emotions he has that killed his light but is praying and hoping that the light (God) will draw him out of the demons in his head. He pre-empted the demons in his head in his Complex EP. This album is the completion of Complex EP. Ache is the perfect ending for both EP and album.

And thanks to your inputs, I now get why Ep is an “extended play”, because yeah, the whole album is meant to be played in one sitting - from song #1 to #9. “Ache” became more meaningful & more impactful because Felip took us to that denouement song after song after song (sin after sin after sin). He was building this angst then we get to the climax, “slothing” and finally “aching”. “Ache” is hurting & breaking after all the sinning, but then, comes also healing & redemption, a glimmer of hope that everything’s gonna be alright. This is such an experience.

He is one filipino artist who will keep taking the risk in changing the sound of the usual OPM and I am proud of him for doing that! One of my fave reactors! Thank you for reacting to the entire album and for always supporting Felip and SB19 as a whole. 7Sins is all about the human experience. The highs and lows of it. The emotions we have to deal with in life as human beings. My top faves are: Ache, Lust, Greed, Sloth, and Pride! Pride is actually about him expressing his Bisaya/Bisdak pride and it featured one of his bashers Marilyn, who commented on Felip's social media about his short hosting segment at PPOP Con last year, because he was all shy, as we all know he's more of an introvert and doesn't really talk much. She trash-talked him about how he acted so ignorant, looking down on him being Bisaya, and that he's embarrassing. So Felip thanked her for giving him an idea to use for his lyrics. The way he dissed her was so funny! The chorus is also very catchy and witty. "Bai na Bai pero di makasabay" ((you say)I'm really Bai but (you) can't keep up (with me) or get to (my) level.) Bai means bro in Bisaya but some people from the city/Tagalogs, who think Bisaya are inferior, use the term Bai as an insult to mean someone is tacky, cheap, ignorant, primitive, uncivilized, or anything negative. Felip has always been proud of his Bisaya roots. This is a diss track for all those Bisaya haters in general.
