For those of you who don't know and are asking why Gerrard looks drunk, it's because at this point in time he was severely depressed and hid it with alcohol and pills like Xanax. He even had said that during this time he never played a show sober. This was, I believe, the last show of what the band calls "The Old My Chemical Romance" because it was the last show with the original drummer, Matt, who apparently the rest of the band didn't get along with, and the last show where Gerrard drank. After this show was around the same time that he called MCR's manager saying that he had a problem and that he wanted to kill himself. Obviously he was convinced not to and he cleaned up. It's just so weird to think about what was probably going through his head in this video. All of this info can be found on the "Life on The Murder Scene" video on YT. It's really good.

This was close to when he hit complete and utter rock bottomness (some week in July 2004) from drugs, cocaine, and alcohol. It took him until around august 12th of that year to get clean and sober. But at least he recovered from it and realized that he didn't need those things to be the Gerard on stage.

The thing that I noticed is Gerard’s voice.His voice was so raw and passionate.I liked this performance because it’s so energetic and passionate. Especially Gerard’s voice. During this time he was so depressed and suicidal because of his addictions with pills and alcohol. His voice shows how much pain he was in and his performance on stage. But he sobered up and his voice changed. I listen to this and the Mexico City show and it showed how he improved as a singer. Thankfully Gerard’s life is not in danger anymore.

It's sad because: 1) I was 7 in 2004. 2) This was my favorite song as a kid (it still is) but I had no fucking idea it was by this band. 3) My aunts, who were angsty teens in the 2000s, loved them and even went to their show here in my country in 2008. Unfortunately I wasn't a big fan back then so I wasn't there 4) I only became a 100% fan of them 2 months before their breakup 5) I'm never going to see them live. Fml
