@@user-AllenE wtf, this is from the 80s. The original was done in 1966. He’s more than familiar with the horn part. Alan Civil played it on the original recording, George Martin wrote it.
@ewest14 Жыл бұрын
@@thefonzkiss George Martin did not write the horn part. There’s two stories but either way Paul wrote it. One story is Paul sang it to George and he wrote it down on paper. The other story is Paul played it on clavichord. They can both be true or maybe just one is. Either way, Paul came up with the horn part and he was the one who requested it be a French horn as Martin has said
@cuebj Жыл бұрын
@@ewest14 Strictly speaking, Paul would not have written it as he didn't read or write music. He'd have strummed it, hummed it, and, eventually, George Martin would have transcribed it for the classical music French horn player to play it. It was at the extreme upper limit of that instrument range
@KebabMusicLtd Жыл бұрын
@@cuebj Being creditted as a songwriter for any piece is not dependent on you actually 'writing the score down on musical script.' If I sing an original song whist accompanying myself on the guitar, and as I am singing the song, I indicate what instruments I want included and how I want them to sound, then I would be the creditted songwriter. It doesn't really matter who transcribes the music to the music sheet, the song and its copyright belongs to that person who first introduced the concept of the song to the world. This was clearly recorded and filmed a long time after the song was originally introduced in the studio, so it would seem that Paul is re-enacting how he first introduced the song to George Martin.

This is from the Give My Regards To Broadstreet OUTTAKES. Paul was testing the songs they would record for the movie....he's sporting his whimsical 1981/1982 hairdo (as seen in the video of 'Coming Up' from his 1980 solo album)...and George has his flowing mad-Stravinsky hippie hair [something he would have never entertained while working for EMI in 1966. Abbey Road had strict rules for employees about how they were allowed to dress].

I’ve revisited this clip a million times throughout my life. It never disappoints! It blows my mind that we, and I’m referring to Paulites, have the pleasure of essentially doing PRECISELY what we always do when listening to this-his epic masterpiece; we sing all the parts of the record! But doing it with the man himself, as he does the same thing…it’s priceless. this is the greatest video ever. When he sings the French horn lead, it’s like…YES!!! He sketches out the arrangement as he plays and sings it. The guy is hands-down the absolute greatest genius of this or any period of music. I place him above the greats of classical and pop music. It’s a bold statement, but those dead guys didn’t impact every moment of my life. They certainly have enriched my life! Particularly J.S. Bach. But the one human who affected everything, and who’s been with me since I was 3 years old, is Paul McCartney. He’s very clean.

I thank God for the gift of Paul's music. Centuries from now when we have all turned to dust, his genuis will continue to be discussed. I saw Paul perform in South Florida in 2006. It was a lot of money for me but it was money spent well. He inspired me to learn guitar, start a band, and love music. That was 60 years ago.
