I just finished this color along today. I did the back ground with Prisma light aqua because I don't have acrylic pens. It was easy enough because there isn't a lot of area to cover. These colors are so vibrant and pretty. I do think Johanna Basford sometimes draws too many little details in her flora illustrations. It is nice to be able to do gradations without having to color around SO MANY little details. Karen you always do such a lovely job on all your pages. I enjoy doing these color a longs with you.

Thank you so much. Great idea to use the light Aqua it’d match very well 🩵 I find where there’s a lot of details on the flowers I tend to ignore them and colour the petal as a whole 😁

Yeah i agree my mind wouldn’t let me when I first started to not color in every small detail. The page to the right is a great example. I would just shade like shade queen did on these pages all through the small details.

Just finished! I did the background In Prismacolor Peacock blue since I don't have the markers and it looks great. Thanks for the gentle music. It makes a difference for me. When music is too fast in color alongs it gets my nervous system going. It was great to break in the new book with you. I hope you do more in this boo, but I know you already have a million books to color in. Thanks so much, Karen!

Totally with ya on the music. I have had to sadly just quit a color-a-long several times bc the music would be so idk like classical but like scary violent!. lol I can’t just turn off the sound bc I’m a crazy person that has to listen to something at all times (music,podcasts , KZbin)or my ADHD takes over lol . Karen always has the most relaxing and calming music & I appreciate it so much ! She is also by far in my opinion the most talented colorist I’ve discovered on KZbin!❤

I am new to this channel and I so glad I found it. Had a great time with the color along. Did buy the Arrtx acrylic markers. Was my first time using them in a coloring book but enjoyed it . These acrylic markers are very interesting colors.. Thank you for sharing. ❤ marina

I have enjoyed your color a longs especially this time off year we have had almost the whole month of January raining and now February it’s been cold and windy and gray. I just received my copy of this book. I colored a few little images but just started on the underwater scene. It reminded me of your color along in Rooms of Wonder "fish tanks". So I am using the same color palette. When I am done, I look forward to doing this color along. Your color choices are so vibrant.

@mycolourfulcountrylife Are you dipping your tip of your pencil in something before coloring the darker areas? Or are you just movimg your pencil away to sharpen.?

Neither. I’m probably checking to see if I need to add more colour perhaps. I don’t use anything other than pencils, no blenders or anything. I pause my videos when I sharpen my pencils so I don’t have to cut them out in editing but you’ll notice the point is sharper as I’m colouring.
