Saw this as a kid at a NMRA convention in the 70s, just as I remembered, and still hilarious now

Who has time for dancing girls? We got a model railroad to run, "You'll be So HAPPY!!!!!"

Thanks for posting the full movie. I remember watching the real 16mm movie at a train show in Milwaukee Wisconsin with a school friend during the late 70's. We got a laugh out of it and still the model railroading bug bit us both. I still haven't found a cure for it! lol

I love this film! I have not seen it in years. They used to show special viewings of it at NMRA and other train shows. Now that I am older, I appreciate the humor in it much more than when I was 8 or 9! Great flick, thnk you for sharing this!

This was amazing! I love model trains and am of course a HUGE fan of Ward Kimball. Tell me I'm not the only one that thought "He's scared of pretty girls, yup he is model railroader material." when the dancing girls number started.

somehow I remember the train falling off the table scene thats Ward Kimball at the beginning in his station saved from a Walt Disney movie So Dear to My Heart I believe that it was moved to John Lassater's winery

Some Disney animation royalty in this. Ward Kimball at the start and Ollie Johnston driving his 1901 Porter (which is now owned by John Lasseter) at the end of the dance.

Chloe was Kimball's loco (named after one of his daughters). Johnston's was the Marie E.
@stevensolway10543 жыл бұрын
HionJune12021ad..Ward Kimball had Chloe 0-4-2. Ollie had Marie E 0-4-0 customized with funnel stack, tender, and caboose...both also are live steamer models in 7&1/2" guage track at 2&1/2"to the foot scale for 3 foot narrow guage prototypes. From Green Bay Live Steamers Union. Go Packers!! On Wisconsin!! Lol!!

This hobby requires personal and financial stability. You have to have a home that you will live in for a long time, as who wants to rip up a layout every time you move? It can also cost a lot too. It's not always an easy hobby for younger people to get into.

loveoldmovies agreed, but I still think it is a good hobby to get into.

Agreed. I never gave up of my dream and made it happen. Saved for my home for 37 years, built the layout in four years. A very gratifying feeling.
