Cut a hole in the bottom of the trash bag and put your hangers through the hole. This way the bag doesn't fall off. It protects clothes from dirt and rain. Also rubber band the hangers together. This way they are easier to handle.

This is not a small dorm girl, this is huge compared to a lot of other dorms. I go to UCONN and they're tiny! And if you want to have your own bathroom you most likely have to share with 5 other girls.

some of the dorm rooms have adjustable beds. My freshman year dorm room could! But these ones specifically couldn't. So it just depends on the dorm room you are living in.

YAYY! How exciting! Yes I like it!! If you get a super double you have TONS of space but if you get a quad you'll get the best of friends. Taylor gets their own bathrooms so its awesome!

At OSU all the beds are provided for you as well as the mattresses!! I still recommend getting a mattress topper for extra comfort. Different dorms have different beds so some will loft while others don’t but you could still get bed raisers for them!

I'm scared of all the new things I will meet and the new people the other students will be escorted by their families but I will arrive all alone we have a different lifestyle here and I'm afraid I may not fit in with everybody

New things can be scary but they are very fun and interesting to be apart of! It's okay to be nervous about it, but don't let that scare you! You have to be open to new things, people, traditions, and the culture. Welcome it with open arms and take it all in. You are very lucky to be traveling for school and get the chance to experience a new part of the world! It is okay to arrive alone at school. I moved into my dorm my second year by myself with no help from family and of course it was challenging doing it myself but it actually gave me more freedom to talk with other people on my floor and in the building because I didn't have to worry about leaving my parents alone in my room to set things up. Change all these negative thoughts into positive ones and look at the light at the end of the tunnel. Use the absence of your family as a conversation starter with people by saying you are traveling and here from another country. People will find that interesting and will want to talk to you more about it to learn more about you! The different lifestyle will probably be the biggest adjustment but I think it will be the most fun part! Immersing yourself into a new culture is scary but so cool at the same time. You get acclimated quickly and you learn so much that you aren't normally around and know about. Use this opportunity to learn more about the world, a new culture, about yourself even. It is cool realizing that there are so many different kinds of people around the world doing so many of the same things but in a different way. Learn those ways! You will definitely learn much more than just academics while away for college and it will be amazing! I understand your nervousness but be sure not to let that stop you from being yourself and going out there and talking to people, making new friends, and exploring this new country and city you're in. I hope this has helped your nerves! :) Good luck!
