Finally got to finish watching this as i've been so busy. Wow, such nice and quaint places there in Zamboanga. I didn't even know about that Spanish fort there so thanks for showing us. And glad you really liked it there. Some haters say vloggers are just lying to get views and that they don't show the bad things, only the good ones. But i think you can tell if a person is lying or not. I can see your sincerity - that you really did like it there. I think the reason why not many tourist (both local and foreign) go there is because there are just too many places here to see. And some places have more to offer. Plus there was also an insurgency problem there in Zamboanga, particularly in Zamboanga Sibugay. But it's been completely rid of that, so it's now quite safe. That Knickerbocker you had, i think that's their own version of Halo-halo which is our (unofficial) national dessert. :)

What you had with the green mango was bagon gata. Bagon (or bagoong alamang in Tagalog) is shrimp paste. Gata is coconut milk. So, it's shrimp paste cooked with tomatoes and coconut milk, hence the mixture of salty (shrimp paste) and sweet (coconut milk) flavors. Bagon gata is a Zamboanga specialty.

Zamboanga City's tamal is a bit similar with the Mexican tamales. There are also other places in the Philippines that have their own form of tamales. But what makes Zamboanga City's tamal unique is that it has vermicelli noodles (may be cooked with chicken and/or shrimp) and a slice of hardboiled egg as filling.

it is sour green mango with salty shrimp. filipino name is bagoong. the sour mango is supposed to go well w the fishy salty shrimp. im a filipino American and i gag even if i smell that salted shrimp. my parents love it- acquired taste no doubt. you are a brave man i was cracking up when u tried it and was so surprised when u didnt throw up. bagoong is pretty much fermented fish and shrimp paste. did u really like it bro?? nevertheless u earned a sub- i am lovin ur videos and im going on a binge. stay safe🙏🏻

No, the fermented fish is grey in color and its called Guinamos (not sure about spelling). The Bagoong is either shrimp paste or shrimp fry. Shrimp paste in Thailand really looks like a paste. Anyway, Bagoong is the best. But i tried some in Pampanga and I was practically cultured shock on how Fishy and Salty it was. It comes in different colors, the pink is out of this world. For Beginners Bagoong Gata is highly recommended. Its cooked with coconut milk and lots of tomatoes, so it aint Fishy.

Alavar and Barcode are the top best restaurants in Zamboanga City! Alavar even mass produce and sells their specialty sauce in supermarkets. U can get their sauce from KCC supermarket

Every island in the Philippines has factions that are unhappy with the Government. They're unhappy for a reason. If you're afraid of potential threats in the world then you should probably stay in your own home.
