I’m an MD who practices longevity medicine: forget about Metformin unless you have severe insulin resistance or type 2 diabetes - Metformin is great for those patients but the evidence for longevity benefit in healthy patients is poor and it may reduce the benefits of exercise Of greater general interest is Rapamycin which was briefly mentioned. Not a ton of human data but the repeated animal data from multiple species is CRAZY

What the elites are taking to live longer stay young, beautiful is called blood transfusions with kids. Adrenachrome is real and i have personally been to VP Biden's brother's anti aging center in the middle of the jungle in Costa Rica. Which VP Biden gave his brother over 51 MILLION in tax payer backed loans to open. Frank builds 99% of it then says it "fails" so we the tax payers paid off the loans. Weird that a very elite security protects this "failed" anti aging center and that a guy filmed covered army trucks going down this jungle road to it and you can CLEARLY hear little kids screaming and crying as it goes by. About 1-2 hours later trucks drive back out with no sounds. Now look at the names on flight logs to the airfield right next to this anti aging center. Obamas, Clintons, Bushs, Pelosis, Neusoms, Schummer, McCain, Cheney, Graham, Justin Castro Traitor, Macron, the Royals, and on and on. Celebrities Hanks, JZ Beyonce, Oprah, Swift, and on and on. Then the super Elites who came after the i think 37 children from Haiti that the Clinton "foundation" employee took and the children are on the flight log from Porte Prince to this airfield in Costa Rica but only the crew is on the flight log back. Kids are never seen again. And look at the names that fly in right after. Soros, Schwab, Gates, Rockefeller, Rotchchild, Clinton, Obama, 3 of the Royal family, Saudi prince. Shaan's Banger assesment right on! FYI Shaan's Auto ISO/Exposure and brief de-Focus going wonky. See @13:10 @39:00 and @47:30 @49:00 for examples. Camera is hunting, there a refocus and then a cycle of overexposure and correction, possible whenever you lean forward/move your hands out/shift from/to holding the dark ball. Suspect your metering mode is off, either way, revisit exposure settings. Great Pod as always. 1. Love the frame/reframe assessment/focus and 2. small wins as a encapsulation of Atomic Habits by James Clear. 3. Regarding desktop real estate practical vs flex. Firmly in the practical camp: so much of software engineering improves with more screens, minimizes context switcjing when in the flow of coding. 4. Sam's net worth story is another example of: "It is a crock and it stinketh!" 5.R.I.P. Gilbert Gottfried.

To me, it's pretty clear Brian Johnson has severe OCD. He wants to increase the years of failing health at the end of his life by spending almost as much time each day with his longevity routine as he does sleeping -- and you spend half of your life sleeping. He's literally wasting decades of his healthy years doing something that may or may not give him a few more years in failing health.

Taurine, an amino acid is a new longevity hype. Essentially, taurine is important for stem cell production and as we get into our middle years, there is a drop in stem cells and so it is advisable to eat foods high in taurine….supplements are not advisable as the chemical taurine is not effective. I really enjoyed your programme and I have just subscribed! Another take on sleep to increase lifespan is: I will sleep when I’m dead…so much for naps, etc.

I’ve been taking metformin for a while now. It helps a ton. I stopped getting the crashes and spikes. It helps stabilize my body a lot. I’m only 37 and have been utilizing it for about 5 years. My insulin levels were very high and that causes so much wear and tear on the system. Once I started on it I noticed a difference immediately… no more naps, no more carb overload, weight loss on the bottom part of my abdomen, and overall more energy. Tons of study on metformin though.

If you went to bed and died in your sleep, you're not going to be around to be disappointed. It's ridiculous to say that death is bad. Let's say you die at 130 years of age. Is that any better than dying at 35 years old? No, it makes no difference to you. It only seems to matter when you view it as an observer but if you're the subject, it can't make a difference at all. When someone dies really young, we say things like, 'oh, poor guy had such a short life." Not poor guy at all. He is not even aware that he is dead. These two guys are denying the reality of the human condition as most people tend to do.

The biggest being, it really seems like John has maximized revenue from that pod. He is a legitimate business person and less of just a content creator. @@brunothegreat2844 I did a comparables based business valuation and suggested a price to the seller, he took that under advisement and decided the listing price. We're closing deals as high as 9x LTM EBITDA when they are 5+ years old and over $2m last twelve months EBITDA and growing. The seller has not maximized his audience (has only grown organically, paid media and advertising hasn't been explored deeply), he has not maximized is offerings (low ticket memberships, high ticket coaching and an annual or bi annual live event/summit could all easily double or triple his EBITDA (I have clients doing $5m+ per year in EBITDA without his branding or exposure... wait... that may be a smart partnership). The seller is also steadfast in his commitment to the brand and prepared for a multi year engagement to continue hosting, which may well be 2-5+ years depending on the buyer's desire. More than the financials it's a brand issue IMO - charging entrepreneurs to come on and talk about themselves 1. doesn't win you much love with the people you're charging over the long haul who say yes out of some blend of desperation for awareness and overestimating the value of appearing on a podcast, however big, 2. dilutes the perceived value of the show because the filter is guests' willingness to pay rather than entrepreneurial achievements, and 3. goes against the grain of the overall podcasting model which is more about long-term goodwill and relationships that lead to bigger things on the back end. I've always thought EO Fire had the value ladder backwards and that's why, as the guys pointed out, it's not generally thought of as one of the top podcasts for value in its category even though it's been able to brute force its way into the public sphere bc of its longevity and profitability. The value in buying it IMO would be for the audience and the PR splash of reinventing it to a better long-term model but that opportunity ain't worth $15M!

Just learn to eat healthier. One of the possible side effects of Ozempic is cancer. No one has tested the stuff long enough to know how bad the side effects can be. And there are always side effects. The bigger the effect, the bigger the side effects.

It's not worth it, most of the weight loss on Ozempic is muscle loss. If you really want to lose fat and keep it off, do the snake diet by Cole Robinson in combination with carnivore!

My cousin lost 50 lbs doing the steak diet. It worked well for him but what he didn't realize to his body he technically was on a no carb diet maintaining low insulin levels. A better way to do it is clean protein and low glycemic vegetables. Alternate day intermittent fasting works well too but when losing weight to fast the body is more susceptible to gallbladder issues so take malic acid to counter that.

Hey @HubSpot, just noticed you switched up the thumbnail. You know I loved the old one with the MFM Branding, it was super clear it was an MFM episode right away. The new one's cool and all, but doesn't scream 'MFM' straight off. Maybe we could bring back a bit of that? Still loving the podcast though, keep it up!

I'm not sure there's much evidence for Metformin in people who already exercise - much of its benefit is analogous to benefit from exercise, IIRC. I tried it myself for a month or so - and I kinda felt that it was making things worse. I do take Nicotinamide Riboside - although that possibly also needs some care... The real issue here is that you're trying to modify the normal functioning of the human body, and control systems that actually have some reasoning behind them - so when you mess with the system, it also pushes back. The ideal case... Would be to have the means to override our bodies' natural regulation systems, and put it all under an artificially intelligent system (which frankly, could be a nightmarish undertaking, given our current level of technology - but maybe not in terms of tech from 10-15 years from now, once AI accelerates scientific development itself)

There's something that I have to say about vegetarians. Because of the lack of meat, their skin and muscles are a complete disaster. You have to be careful of what vegetables to eat because plants have natural defense chemicals in them. You age quicker if you're a vegetarian because red meat has the telomerase gene, and your body needs the telomerase gene so that your cells can make copies of new cells. The telomerase gene also rejuvenates your chromosomes. Vegetarians don't live long, it's what you eat in moderation.

All epigenetic clocks currently out are flawed and not real measures of biological age and definitely not an accurate barometer of health and longevity. You can game them by doing things like injecting yourself with a boat load of epitalon and they’ll show you’re new biological age is that of a child. You might also just end up with premature cancer though by exploiting the natural length of your telomeres, we don’t really know. Those clocks are not something I’d proudly want to win until better measures of biological age exists. 12:13
