Ellie came out beautiful. And the 3D printed cars and rails too. Very well done. I like the little upgrades to your Myford and your milling machine over the last few years, they have inspired me to upgrade some of my own equipment in a small way. Thanks, André

I’ve been 3D printing sleepers and points but using 10mm by 3mm aluminium for the rails. Seems to work fine and very cheap. Nice work!

truly amazing, is there any risk of the track melting if the engine is on a section for too long?
@myfordboy
@myfordboy 4 жыл бұрын
No I can't see that happening.

ha, that is awesome! I like printing the chairs and sleepers separately, then assembling them, makes for three simple prints rather than one with supports. That SV03 is massive! I guess printing diagonally for even longer sections isn't worth it?

If you oriented the tracks diagonally on the printbed you could probably make them even longer.

@@myfordboy I downloaded the CAD program and made a few drawings. Now I am faced with a problem because I want to draw an elongated hole in a pipe. But don't get any further. I can't find a tool to break a pipe through. Can you help me?
@myfordboy
@myfordboy 4 жыл бұрын
Draw the shape of the hole and extrude it to a solid. Position it where you want it on your pipe and use the remove solid tool. This removes one part from another and leaves the hole you need.

@maxmustermann2596
@maxmustermann2596 4 жыл бұрын
@@Kineth1 Personally I would prefer to print the whole thing on its side and take the supports instead of gluing. I dislike support, so I am not sure if I would take it in this case or I would just sacrifice the aesthetics and make the chairs wider.
