Myheritage helped me take my surname roots all the way back to Thorlongus de Crawford and his father Sweyn de Northumbria who was born in Sweden and died in Northumbria at the age of 30. Sweyn's father, Leofwine de Northumbria, is where my research ends. He is my direct ancestor, 31 generations!

Also found that William Wallace's grandfather, John de Crawford (Knight) is my 22x great-grandfather, making WW my direct ancestor(23 generations) first cousin 8 times removed
