Happy Chanukah! This is my daughter's 2nd Chanukah and it was such a difference from last year. She was so engaged with the candles when I lit them yesterday and when she got her first present (A Blue's Clues Handy Dandy Notebook toy) Oh my goodness she got so excited. So, excited for the next few days.

Love that he still has his PJ’s on bc seriously….get to gymnastics vs mommy has a panic attack wrestling w a toddler (the panic attack would be me). But you doing it mama! My husband never made lasagna but pulled out the KitchenAid randomly, made homemade noodles, fixed together a sauce and wow! It was really good. I always enjoy when my husband gets a craving, usually ends with a tasty meal.

Very cool menorahs I used to volunteer at a JCC in New York and the kids would make menorahs using old CDS as a base

Zach has the most amazing curls which I guess all the older ladies love his hair too. You could donate his hair too. I hope you and your family have a peaceful Hanukkah and able to celebrate despite what is happening around the world. On the crayon front, you can use them to make rainbow crayons etc when broken etc.

Hi Marion 👋...I have had my Menorah for a few years now but I never really knew what to do... I've been learning as much as I could... last night I think I got it all in... waited till dark...lit my candles... it's battery powered so I pressed the button and the servant candle lit and the one to the left...then I said the blessings... thank you 🙏 for your help 😊..I had such a high..I didn't fall asleep till almost midnight... My family started serving Kijafa during the holidays in the early 1960s. I remember having my first glass of Kijafa after dinner, while reading the novel "Marjorie Morningstar" during the school break in 1963. Back then it was from Denmark, but in recent years it has come from Poland. I'll be picking up a bottle soon. 🍒

Happy Chanuka! I see you guys light your candles similar to shabbos candles (light, cover eyes, Bracha). We say the Bracha and then light for chanuka candles. I believe the custom for shabbos comes from not wanting to light a fire once you accept shabbos, which happens by saying the Bracha, so you light first. Stay safe and warm💙

Yes I was taught to say the brachot first then light the candles. Then say Hanerot Halalu and sing maoz tzur and other traditional songs. But the blessings. Then silence while lighting the candles, is the way it’s supposed to be done according to Halacha , for those interested in that :) ah freilichen Chanukah!🕎
