Cos we're practicing a hybrid system ppl confuse how our system should work. We are closer to the American system. Ppl vote for political parties, that's why when an MP resigns from his party his seat becomes vacant. Parties are supposed to have principles & ideologies that voters identify with & can use the party to advocate for his interest. The citizens control the parties with their small donations.
