Yes Mylene is amazing! She writes all her lyrics, her stage ideas are often by herself (she comes up w the concepts etc), she does choreographies, she had composed her own music etc... it’s amazing how much she puts into her career and you can see how much she love it & us. Always doing her best.

At this period I worked for the same producer company as a backliner for another artist. Everyone spoke about the conception of this show, because each time Mylene makes a new show it's a big event in France, and it was for the millenium, so each artist wanted to make a special show (so even more special for her) and I was lucky enough to go visit the making of it, went in the head of the statue, it was huge and really amazing. Unfortunatly I couldn't see the show live, but it's something I will not forget.

That was the video reaction I wanted to see from you guys, the intro of the Mylenium tour. I knew you’d be astonished like I was, when I first saw it on DVD, like, 20 years ago. I also like it that your pronunciation of her surname is super correct. Mylene Farmer is the ultimate superstar of Europe, an equivalent for Madonna in the USA. I am Hellenic (Greek) and I don’t speak or understand French but I ve always been mesmerized by her vocals and presentation. I strongly have a suggestion for you that you can react on. It’s a Mylene song, and specifically a video clip, which is actually a short film of her song: Degeneration, it’s the debut single from her 2008 album called: Point de suture. She is absolutely fabolous. More info: The drummer is actually the drummer of Paul McCartney band and many others, so she has one of the best drummers up there. I love her fans not only because they know the words (many bands have those fans), but more for how they feel and cry with her... it is just so extremely emotional, always hits me :)... As for the concert of the century.. yes, but I think we should not forget about the biggest concert of all times (according to Guiness book of records) with ~3.6 million by Jean-Michel Jarre which was actually in Moscow (so Russia) as well :). Another french artist in Russia, they just rule big time :). His concert is however completely different from Mylenes (even though both have lots of synths and electronica), his is much more focussed on effects and technic :).

Suzy totally gets it. Mylene is an icon for many well deserved reasons : she's a great singer, she's a great lyricswriter (unfortunately, I suppose that is lost in translation ; however lyrics are greatly appreciated on this side of the ocean ; Europe gives lyrics a lot more value than the US), and then she goes overboard with the stuff, the freaking stuff. It's unfortunate that she doesn't have many good songs. This one is pretty poor. It's a pity. But this is how she built her fame. If I watch enough of her clips, i can cry within 10 seconds. However, I'll acknowledge we've done better, musically. The crowd is the best thing, always amazes me (and the crowd is right... to some extent).

Not a lot of good songs? Are you sure you know Mylène Farmer's discography well? Take for example "Bad Romance" (2009) by Lady Gaga and compare with "Degeneration" (2008) by Mylène Farmer ..... you will understand what inspired the famous "rah-la-ouh-la-la" of Gaga... See MF in the 90s and you will understand the inspiration for Britney Spears' appearance afterwards ... For me, Mylène Farmer is a bit like MJ: oversized shows, extraordinary intros, absolute fans, magnificent music videos, a lot of charisma and aura. I will be able to write for hours on this artist because she has produced and innovated ... Another detail that I knew recently: Mylène Farmer is currently the only singer in the entire history of the world music industry to have managed to place (new) albums at the top of the charts in 5 different decades (1980, 1990, 2000, 2010, 2020) .... this is explicit enough to describe what it is ...

So, yes, Mylene is brilliant in many regards, yet I do not think she has been offered many great songs, speaking only about the instrumental element, here. But then, to each their own tastes. A la sortie du live bcp ont mis en avant que le live avait été trop retravaillé, c'est le moins bon en audio. Univers Farmer? Tu t'es pris pour un élu du ciel mec? Nous sommes tous aptes à ressentir, comprendre, faire preuve d'empathie. C'est la force de Farmer qui doit être aussi une personne avec un potentiel d'hypersensibilité. Elle les attire à elle. Orgueilleux, présomptueux et agressif. Tu cumules la box lgbt. Et évite le discours victimaire et accusateur sur l'homophobie, je suis gay. 🖕 Se définir par ses actions et son coeur et rien d'autre.

I still remember my big sister coming back home from one of her 1989 concerts, completely psyched, which intrigued me. In the following years, I was in junior high, I borrowed her CDs to listen to Mylène's first albums, and I was hooked. Then my interest faded. I didn't even realize it. I only understood why many years later, in my twenties, as I was rediscovering her, when I got the DVD of her 1996 concert : it traumatized me for life. ^^; She's changed waaaaay too much waaaaay to fast in the mid-90's. Her visual identity, the style of her music, it was like night and day. She's still a very, VERY good "show woman", I'm not saying otherwise, but her most famous 89 concert is worth in my eyes a thousand of those huuuuge, expensive concerts she's been doing these past fifteen years. Did you ever watch it ? The first Mylène was unique (and a unique beauty), her world was dark, gothic, sophisticate, and filled with literary references... the other one is much less interesting.

@@SCharlesDennicon Bon bah parlons en français car je suis français moi aussi mdr J'ai 47ans alors j'ai toujours connu Mylène Farmer mais je suis vraiment devenu un véritable fan qu'assez récemment en replongeant complètement dans sa carrière depuis le début même si auparavant j'ai toujours admiré son travail car c'est quand même le dernier monument de la chanson française. Alors oui je suis d'accord que sa première tournée de 1989 était la meilleure car c'était révolutionnaire pour l'époque et qu'elle était totalement imprégné de l'esprit "Libertine" et Mylène avait époustouflé tout le monde et aussi totalement ringardisé la concurrence ( RIP Jeanne Mas lol). Même si il est vrai qu'elle a quelques fois dérivé de sa ligne, Mylène a toujours su se renouveler et surprendre. Ok elle a dû se moderniser et sortir un peu de son monde originel mais soyons honnête....cette femme a souvent innové et pas seulement au niveau national mais mondial. Même dernièrement lors de la tournée 2019....les sonorités sont en avance sur tout le monde car personne dans la pop music ne fait ça et le show n'en parlons même pas... Sais tu qu'en réalité l'intro et la sortie 2019 sont seulement des choix de repli car l'idée d'origine a été abandonnée tellement c'est considéré comme irréalisable avec la technologie actuelle? Ca devait vraiment être surnaturel car déjà le niveau 2019 est visuellement hallucinant...^^
