I felt worried that Myles Kennedy's association with Slash would help this band to become overexposed and overly popular, but thankfully that hasn't been the case at all. Besides, people only bought Slash's solo records because of Slash himself anyway.
@Mytube6138

DW'89Music What you can't like music that becomes too popular? Is attention bad for a band? Cause I'm sure AB would love as much exposure as they can get.
@Kratos58gt
@Kratos58gt 7 жыл бұрын
Cause then there would be more of a pressure on the band to appeal to the masses of fans. Which would most likely result in more mainstream radio shtuffs. I too personally think that this band is perfect where they are now. but that is my opinion.

This sticks with me because I run into so many people who want fences in music: "Not all the fans appreciated that, because religion and politics ... you just don't talk about that. But at the same time, someone who creates and writes, you have to be honest about the way you're feeling." Very candid interview, excellent showing Myles.

I still am, you don't get out of it so easily. It's been kinda of an emotional rollercoaster for the past 3 years. But music saves lives, and I think that Myles Kennedy is the perfect example for it. Voice type determines the timbre of the speaking voice more than the pitch of the speaking voice. His speaking voice is average in where it is placed on the spectrum of pitch but is bright, as tenor voices should be (relative to other voice types).

What's interesting is how he talks about ABIII as such a dark record....yes there are darker songs but there are plenty of uplifting ones as well, ie Breathe Again, Life Must Go On, Wonderful Life, Words Darker Than Their Wings (somewhat dark but overall a positive vibe). I guess it's in your perspective and where you come from with everything. Something written from a dark place can actually turn out to be a light somewhere.

Aside from Billy Sheehan, Myles Kennedy is the only guy I've ever worked for or met, that truly seems happy with his life. Bravo, sir.

I have tenitus and I'm pretty sure it was from the one Ministry concert my buddy took me to in Germany. The venue was basically a middle school gymnasium and Ministry brought their stadium gear. For the record, I didn't have a clue who Ministry was and I haven't listened to them since. The singer screamed and I was 20 feet from a tower of speakers and I literally felt his voice go in one ear, through my brain, then out my other ear with 25% of permanent hearing in tow.

Awesome interview! Up there with the Amy Lee interview in terms of 👌. It just feels like a chill natural conversation and that's my favorite kind of musician interview. Never knew that stuff about ABIII. Always been about the sound of vocals to me moreso than lyrics, but I'm gonna have a listen and read. Escaping the Catholic Church and using my own observations to come to the conclusion that life itself is the result of chemistry and time with a healthy pinch of luck has been incredibly liberating. There's still plenty of good to do in this world, and one's faith shouldn't have any bearing on whether they have morals or not. Respect, block out the haters.

Wow! Many years later I finally proved that ABIII is the Album about someone spiritual conflicts and questions. ABIII marked me because I could identify myself with almost every song ! Thats why Alter Bridge is my favorite band ever. They don't do nonsense Rock. They basically put their souls and minds in every song. Thanks Alter Bridge!!!! You will never know how deep your music runs in my every day!

I’ve noticed that ear plugs actually help me hear the mix much better. Not just a loud wall of noise.

The EP4 sonic defenders are my favorites. Close the plug for really loud noises, or open the plug for partial reduction.
