Right around 3:50:40 it is stated that hard drives are ROM. That is not true. Hard drives are storage, not memory. ROM is the stored program information that is hard coded into a chip. ROM contains the instructions the computer needs to boot up, or set the computer up to properly function every time you start it up. It is the boot load instructions. They are Read ONLY Memory because if you were able to alter the information, your computer would not work properly. RAM is the work table of your computer. Hard drives are the storage. When you boot your computer (turn it on) the information from the ROM is loaded and sets up your workshop. Then you provided instruction for the computer to follow. You are telling the computer to pull a project off the storage shelf (hard drive) and put it on the work table (RAM). You then are free to read/alter the project. You save the changes you made to the project and put it back on the shelf (hard drive) when you are done. The hard drive data is stored magnetically on the disk (unless you have a solid state drive which I will not address here). It does not require energy to maintain the information. The information is durable (long lasting). The RAM, on the other hand, is not magnetic. When you turn your computer off there is no power to maintain the contents of the RAM, so it (your work table) is wiped clean.

The woman Michelle probably gives the best overall advice for what to say in an interview situation. She's very concise in her statement choices, but all have key flag words that companies look for like "company image" and "empathy". Companies typically hire people like her for human resources and to interact with potential employees. I would listen carefully to the things she chose to say and how to say them because she's pretty much handing you the algorithm on a platter. And someone similar to her will probably be reviewing your application.

Yep. There are a few different tiers, but it does depend on where you work. The higher the tier, the less you likely will work with end-users on a regular basis. The "customer" depends on where you work. In general, if you work in an IT dept. in tech support, you are providing tech support to the staff of your organization, not necessarily the public.

I’m a high school student trying to get into IT or CyberSecurity, what should I do when I graduate high school? Any answer helps.
@JJFlores197
@JJFlores197 11 ай бұрын
Honestly, don't wait until you graduate high school. If you have free time, use it to learn about IT. The more you learn when you're younger, the better. See if your school offers any IT or computer science courses. Also, check to see if they have any IT internship or student internship opportunities for IT especially during the summer. I work in school IT and the summer break is the busiest for us. Take advantage of any opportunities your school may offer, even if it isn't directly related to what you want to eventually work in. Do you have any computer knowledge like how to build a PC or fix one? If not, start with the basics. Watch Professor Messer's A+ training videos on KZbin to get some PC repair knowledge. If you have any old PCs laying around, use them to learn and practice. See if any of your friends or family have old PCs they don't want anymore and use them to learn. They don't need to be fancy or even functional; bonus points if you can get them to work. Take them apart and look at the hardware, Put the system back together. Repeat until you feel comfortable working on computers. Move onto the software-side of things. Learn how to make a Windows USB installer and install Windows and drivers on an old computer. Learn how to install programs and printers. Learn some troubleshooting techniques. Once you have a general idea of computer basics, you can move onto the higher level topics like cyber security. You don't necessarily need to follow this path, but I believe having a strong foundation of computers and how they work is important for future IT careers. After all, if you're working in cyber security, you would need to understand the technology you're working to defend.
