Further info on Mega EverDrive Pro audio: Because MDFourier was used late in the production of the Mega SD, the sound could not be perfectly matched to a real Sega CD due to design limitations. Confirmed. Numbers 3 and 4 are currently inbound for me as well- Master, 64, Mega, and SD2 (or whatever it's called now). What I didn't anticipate is how much it would take the wind out of my sails from a collecting standpoint. The 64 was the first I grabbed due to the abysmal options as far as emulation and cloning. As such, there has been a lot of times I've found it difficult to justify costs for games for a console I pretty much "have everything" for in the form of an ED. Now, I try to make it a point to not "drive up" until I've gotten my collection for a given console to a point I'm happy with.

Save state support by Furious on the SD2SNES has been available in a non-official firmware for a long time, maybe since 2018. Now you can find a non-official firmware that includes both the latest SGB support as well as save states. Save states only work with non-special chip games, however, and there can be audio quirks (audio tracks not changing between saving/loading states).

Yeah, the audio quirks are why I'm hoping Krikzz adds official save state support. I have to imagine they have the means to make it a bit more stable, and that's probably why it's taking so long to add them. I also wonder if the states on the custom firmware are imperfect in other ways. Like for instance, if I load saves for speedrun practice while I'm trying to do RNG manipulation, I wonder if because it's not a true save state, the RAM values might be off somehow. I don't own an FXPAK to try it out because save states would be like 90% of why I'd want one.

Honestly, that auto .ips patching feature of the Everdrive 64 should be something that every Everdrive offers, as that would be SUPER handy when wanting to try out various homebrew hacks and such. Having to pull the original ROM and then patch every single game just to create a unique ROM can be a tedious process. Such a feature would be extremely handy and very welcome! Doubt we will ever see it added to other Everdrives though and that's a real shame. I can't imagine it would be that hard to implement on other Everdrives. I will say though that I VERY much dislike the way it's implemented. They should simply allow you to select a game and then be able to manually select a patch to temp patch it with on the fly. That would be the FAR easier and better option. Why they decided to go with this truly pain in the ass method of having to rename files is beyond me, as by that point you should just patch the dang ROM yourself. What a pain...

Ive honestly been really considering getting the Mega EverDrive Pro and FXPAK PRO... SNES is my #1 favorite console amd the Genesis is my #2, ive been happy with my Mega EverDrive x7 since 2016 when i bought it, but my Super EverDrive x5 was always i guess lacking a lil in what i wanted from it

Mega Everdrive Pro upset me for a few reasons but all are not something I can truly blame them for. I purchased my Everdrive X7 from their Amazon store LITERALLY 3 weeks prior to it being announced and given it fixed the only complaint I had about the existing service I was without question very upset and well not angry but disappointed. But Im not sure theres anything they could have done about it other than stopping sales or something, which they'd obviously never do

Will you be doing a video on the NT Mini Noir? I’d love to see you cover the the updates they’ve made to it.

I can't tell if it's placebo or not, but I swear there is a slight difference in the SOUND of a real SNES game vs the FX Pack Pro. Was testing it earlier today with Yoshi's Island. To my ears, the original cart sounds more "bright" or louder than when I use the FX Pack Pro. They both sound great mind you, but I couldn't shake the feeling that any game I ran on the FX sounded ever so slightly muffled. Anyone else experience this?

I remember at the beginning of the mega Everdrive pro, the files that had to be used or how they were added were a lot more strict and picky than the mega SD. It looks like they changed this with firmware updates? I think it had to do with adding Bin, cue, iso, etc... files.

Great video, Im hoping I can get the Analogue Duo (TubroGrafix16/CD clone) when they come up for pre-order and then get the Turbo Everdrive for it. Originally I want to get the Polymega but they've stated that Everdrives wont be supported on it
