My take from the trailer is the Earth Ponies will be the one among the Ponies Tribe to show the dissatisfaction to the return of magic as it'll give the Pegasi and Unicorn a clear advantage over them. The ponies that is dissatisfied with the return of magic in this trailer is clearly an Earth Ponies. The Maritime Bay Day proposed by Sunny might an attempt to show the Earth Ponies of Maretime Bay how amazing magic is. Beside, in the trailer, we could see that the Earth Ponies crystal is the only one that is cracking. Zipp word at the end of the trailer is, "That's it !!! Unicorn and Pegasi too, help the Earth Ponies". And if Hitch did get the ability to talk with animals after the restoration of the Unity Crystal (or maybe what I believe the Earth Ponies Crystal), I am guessing that the Earth Ponies might get some ability like some kind of strength or plant or farming or food related ability. I believe this is probably how the special gonna be.

Here are my shower thoughts about the trailer/sypnosis: -I can't get over how strange the animation looks, it's slower and kind of looks like those HTTYD spin off shows or CGI Barbie -I can already see where this is going. Zipp tries to warn everypony of the Crystals' glitching but her friends ignore her for the sake of the plot any they end up apologizing to her in the end -I doubt this movie will have a villain. And if it does, it will probably be Posey Bloom sabotaging the crystals out of spite (either that, or she's still bitter about the Mane-Melody incident) -Why are the crystals still here in the first place? Didn't they vaporize when the rainboom brought magic back in the last movie? -Seeing the world end from loss of magic makes you wonder why that didn't happen already? -I would like the special to explain how the Crystal Brighthouse came to be and what happened to Sprout as that wasn't explained in Tell your Tale -In some brief shots, Zipp is wearing some kind of belt similar to Hitch's. I'm guessing that she'll be the new deputy, which was a throwaway line in Tell Your Tale -I'm assuming the abyss is the same abyss Cozy Glow made in the FiM season 8 finale -Why does the baby dragon have wings? They're supposed to get them while molting -Speaking of dragons, I would freak out if Spike showed up and he ended up married to some dragon (maybe Smolder or Ember) but I hope that baby is not Spike's son

I don't think it will be played as a 'de-evolution' like you said of dragons, but rather that Sparky is a newborn, or hatchling, dragon that like human babies runs on very basic instinct since their brains haven't properly developed yet. So it seems more likely that Sparky will be primitive and become more sophisticated as they grow older, much like how we saw Spike when Twilight hatched him acting very baby-like sucking his tail and then later with Shining Armour and Twilight not really reacting to things going on around him and just accepting food, attention and starting to mature through colouring on the walls. Heck, comparing the maturity level of Season 1 Spike compared to him in Season 8/the older dragons and we see a definite difference in maturity and comprehension. It makes sense that Hitch's talent seems like a natural 'charisma' or something that draws animals in and eases them, making them feel safe and happy much like Fluttershy, and why that would work on a young dragon that doesn't have the same mental capacity yet of even a foal.

i wonder if hitch will find out his great grandmother was fluttershy,and this ability is just passed from one generation to next like how some of us humans as kids take after our grandparents in looks,and styles,so it seems this g5 mane 5 takes after the g4 mane 6,and probably other past generations going back to generation 1,like we humans do in each of our generations going back in time.,and our future generations take traits from us,like these ponies in g5 seem to be doing,meaning is this like a shake down cruise on a new ship,it takes time for everything to come together,and since these ponies are newest know as 5 generation it might take time for them to adjust,since we don't know how long it was from the g4 ponies to now the g5 ponies,so certain stuff,will take,but as twilight sparkle told sugar belle,even the best of friends have different views of stuff,but as sugar belle,learned this makes friendship stronger,which truly creates the magic,but i wonder if some pony in g4 got twilight sparkle to breakdown,so she started the end of the g4 ponies,talk about irony,and will find out a group of g5 ponies is related to the g4 pony who brought down g4 pony society,and they like their ancestor may feel the 3 types of ponies need to stay seperate,cause in the g3 ponies mini movies until earth ponies like minty met ponies like g3 rarity,they felt each group was a myth,and even when the 3 types in g3 met the other 2 they still felt distrustful,even in g1 firefly as pegasus had arguments with the earth,and unicorn ponies around her,so did g4 twilight sparkle create a perfect in a way fantasy society,and this is why it failed,and ponies like hitch are being realistic how they feel about the other 2 groups of ponies,maybe mlp is mirroring especially american society,since we created it from ideas bonnie zachrelle,then lauren faust had a about ponies as mirroring us humans,not to just sell stuff ,but to teach us how stuff grows,and changes as group friendships do,since most ponies are easier to ride,and other stuff than the bigger horses,and so these very intelligent equines,would be great a being a mirror image of us,plus if they are multicolored,and stuff,it mirrors us,since even when lauren faust created g4 mlp she referenced bonnie zachrelle,and her philosphy about my pretty pony,then my little pony,and lauren faust,as well as the guys creating the g5 ponies just have added depth,but it takes time to tell any story,and i feel we should let these ponies of g5 tell their tales to us as friends,and fans,since this also how friendships grow,and become stronger,and truly create magic,as sunny felt at the end of the g5 movie it wasn't the crystals that created the magic through their friendship's it was the ponies,and since our human society is still going through dark stuff,maybe the g5 ponies are mirroring this back to us through their society,that is reviving stuff,so maybe if these g5 ponies find better ways to strength their friendships,maybe we can as humans as well.

since each generation of my little pony has ponies that are probably relatives of each descending generation,like how our grandparents created our parents,and they created us,and we create our kids,and our kids create future kids,so if you look geneaology you can see this in relation to ponies from generation 4 like granny smith created pear butter,who created big mac,applejack,then applebloom,and created a group of friends caled the cutie mark crusaders,and i feel either scootaloo,or sunset shimmer,met a stallion after many sub generations that created the end of generation created ponies that created argyle,and maybe argyle's wife if we found her history,might look like scootaloo,or sunset shimmer,and maybe they hooked up twilight sparkle's descendants and they created argyle who with his wife created sunny,since if you look at sunny's fur coat,and body she has the same colorings as scootaloo,and if her father was related twilight sparkle she could a upgrade just as twilight did at the end of g4 episode magical mystery cure at the end of the 2021 movie,sunny seemed to get her own magical mystery cure,but its interesting that twilight was sorta resurrected by celestia,so could the g4 ponies be playing out our bible stories about jesus christ,and god,since in a way celestia is the god of day,and luna the god of night,and candance was the godess of love,and twilight was the godess of friendship in little horse forms,so in away the ponies from generation 1 were goddesses before our christanity,and each generation add to story,until now we're at very deeppoint in the ponies story,which means the end of g4 was like a bible story of a flood,and so g5 sunny is in escense a pony version of noah,repopulating the ponyland states of equestria,and their greater pony earth,so her friends in izzy,hitch,zipp,and pipp are creating a ark of group friendship that recreate magic across their pony earth,since even in g4 the ponies recreated a story based on their foundation of the principles of tolerance,and friendship which depending how the ponies use magic from their friendships it either becomes,good,bad,or nuetral,so if the pony magic between generation 4 ,and 5 of mlp,this means the ponies have to rest their friendships to restart the magic,but as zipp in the upcoming special notices cause some ponies still dont each other,that one starting with the earth crystal,but if it wasn't the crystals at the end of the 2021 that recreated the ponies why is one of crystal cracking,unless the crystals like the tree of harmony from g4 sense the ponies moods,and respond accordingly,and some how izzy being around alot of crystals senses their stuff,like how spike g4 was able to if he ate a crystal and absorbed a feeling about a pony,and the 1st ponies he came are celestia,twilight,luna,then rarity,he keyed in the fellings of these ponies,just like izzy can in g5 mlp,and hitch ie related to fluttershy,he also has stuff from her brother zephyr heights,but could he also get stuff from applejack's cousin braebrun,but how would zipp pick up some of twilight,and rainbow dash,and pip pick up some of rarity,and probably fluttershy,since pipp is musical like fluttershy,and also stylish like rarity,just stuff to ponder as we get close to the 1st g5 ponies special,then its series in september,but feel unlike g4 when twilight and the mane 6 planned this,so when their descendants in generation 5 were able to they left stuff around like bread crumbs in our story of hansel,and gretal,so could sunny,and hitch be the pony version of hansel,and gretal,and in that story both hansel,and gretal went into a woods,and they met a fellow traveler that helped them,and could izzy be that traveler,since she traveled to maretime bay led by friendship sent by sunny,so could this generation of ponies be mirorring our fairy tales like generation 1-4 did,each in their own way,unless my theory was correct,and we became the ponies,and going from human to pony,we're still following our myths,andstories,which is why when i took g5 ponies quiz by hasbro,i matched up with mostly sunny,and izzy in style of their other treats from a cart,plus one of my uncles studied archealolgy like argyle does,so maybe i have some of argyle before he passed on,i wonder if why some stuff from the 2021 movie was rushed,cause they'll bring it up in season 1 of these g5 ponies,since with both twilight,and rainbow dash from g4 being so into books,and being best friends with a archealogist,could their descendants become like globe trotting history detectives,just like a.k.yearling,and argyle were from g4 into g5 mlp,so could some episodes be like blues clues,or even scooby doo,and become globetrotting mystery solvers,and uncover alot of history,especially if g5 cast,and crew wants to lauren fausts example with the g4 ponies,by adding alot more stuff to g5,but i feel what did in the g4 ponies is some kind of planetary shift that even twilight sparkle as the pony princess of friendship could'nt stop,so this might explain why generation 4,and now generation 5 seem so far apart,and if a major event did disrupt the ponyland states of equestria,and the greater pony earth could this cause fear among the 3 types of ponies,so they broke up as groups of friends,and families,since in show of the pictures in mostly maritime bay,they see images of ponies being fearful wild animals,and its amazing what fear can do,and if long enough it might cause weird feelings about your neighbors,and so may this stuff until unny,izzy,hitch,zipp,and pipp were ready to recreate group friendsips it probably creted isolated towns o3 types that like ur internet kept fear alive,so even if sunny felt ponies like izzy,pipp,and zipp could be friends,it just took time,just more pondering.

I’m going to give it a chance and watch it. I admit I was really hyped when I first saw the leaked trailer, and having gone back and rewatched it several times, I still am … but it’s dawned on me the animation style seems a lot more ‘plasticky’, and reminded me of Filly Fantasia. Indid however think that the animation of Izzy’s face in the final part of the trailer was pretty decent. I also love your G5 OC by the way, she looks amazing!

Actually, Sparky Sparkeroni's characterization as being more animalistic is in line with how Spike acted after Twilight hatched him out of his egg. It's also reminiscent of how the newborn dragons acted in the FIM episode "Sweet and Smoky." What does confuse me however is the fact that Sparky Sparkeroni is born with his wings even though it was established in FIM that dragons only get their wings after going through a biological process called "the molt" which happens when a dragon is in their preteens. Smolder even stated that EVERY dragon goes through the molt.

I thought Smolder means every dragon goes through molting does not necessarily mean they get wings during molting. Smolder never specified all dragons get wings after molting it was only after molting we realize Spike get wings. Maybe the wings after molting isn't for all dragons or at some point dragons evolved like that.

Say what you what about the animation of My little pony make your mark special, I like it. I think it’s the closest we’re going to get to see the animation like the movie. There’s so many things to look forward to: Sunny getting used her alicorn form, the ponies still getting used to magic and friendship, Izzy being Izzy, Zipp being Hitch’s new deputy, Pipp with her fans and Hitch new found ability to communicate with animals and him being the dad of Sparky Sparkeroni the baby dragon. Just like Twilight raised Spike as her son/brother, Hitch will most likely raise Sparky as his son. This special will be great, I can’t wait to see it.

I noticed the one character that was missing her ears before is still missing them in most of the shots, but there is one where she has them back??? Idk. Strange. i'm uhhh.. i'm glad that you have similar feelings on this. as a g1 fan i honestly think the thing with posey is really sad. like people were saying that it's just an adaptation from g1 just like g4 and then there's also characters like alphabittle but like...posey??? i don't get why it had to be posey, she only had one episode really focusing on her and her personality but like in it you can see she's just the sweetest thing, maybe a little naive but so gentle and kind. but like the posey shown here, even if it's a different character, is just.. immediately unlikable from the get go. like i feel like the way she's written in general from what i've seen is just in general really weak like.. this is their best try at a villain? like i know g4 was just really good with its villains in general but like.. at least their villains were likable, at least they had something, y'know?

I think the reason for hitch to be able to understand animals is because of a kind of magic it is the cutie mark magic as we seen in many episodes of mlp fim a cutie mark is tied to a ponies special talent or their destiny in season 1 in episode 12 when applebloom was trying to get her cutie mark she asked twilight to make it appear with her magic but cutie mark is something that a pony has to discover it by themselves and in season 5 when starlight took the cutie marks of the mane 6 they lost their special talents with it so maybe this new is called as the make your mark because it's about earthponies connection with their cutie marks as we already seen it in the movie all the pony kinds have their cutie marks even though magic was gone cutie marks can't be controlled by magic and ponies had their cutie marks only on one side of their flanks

I’m actually really excited for Make Your Mark. I have a few theories surrounding what caused the crystals to crack and how did Hitch gain the power to talk to animals. I feel like maybe Posey and a few other ponies are the cause of the crystals cracking. I’m picturing something similar to G4 season 9 where Queen Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow made all pony races turn against each other. I think later on the mane 5 (or 6 since I also have a theory that this mysterious “misty” character might be a new addition to the main cast) might rediscover the elements of harmony. Along with rediscovering the elements it gives Hitch the power to talk to animals. I’m excited to see what might happen when it comes out.

3D art lead from Equestria at War here. Oh boy the show is going to be one hell of a toy money grab. From personal experience I think the budged is only part of the reason why the show looks meh or sometimes even worse. I do all of my rendering on my home computer, without using any render farms, and I'm a huge fan of old and realtime techniques, and faking a lot of rendertime consuming effects. With the rise of realtime engines and constantly increasing computing power doing decent looking renders fast is not as hard as it was a couple of years ago, it just requires some skill and effort. Personally I think what we're seeing here is lack of art direction and going the easy way of sacrificing some of the lightning effects by straight up turning them off, instead of putting in any effort in optimization and fixing the looks. The widely reapeated thing is "Rendering takes time, Pixar needs 24h to render single frame, and smaller studios don't have budgets to spend on render farms". I saw one of Pixar shaders back in the day, and I'm not surprised their renders take this long, as they try to make everything as physically accurate as possible. If you don't have the budged then you optimize or fake it, but at least put some effort into it. Its clearly visible in some of the materials, by reducing amount of light bounces (in short, as light comes in it bounces off the surfaces lighting up everything even more) they're making them look too dark in some scenes (look at Izzy in some interior shots, cutie mark and hair especially, how dark they are). Some of the scenes are desaturated while others have too much color. You are supposed to even out the grading and make everything look fitting in the compositing and post production, preferably by a single/a couple of dedicated artists or someone who at least knows his stuff. Maybe these are shots from different episodes, which can explain huge differences between them, but nothing can explain how little effort went into the color grading and compositing. Don't they have some art lead over there, or did he/she went on vacation after seeing budget and time constraints? Also the thing Joules explained in a pinned comment under a "the new MLP scares me..." video as an ambient occlusion is actually called subsurface scattering (the light passing through objects, go use flashlight on fingers to see what it does, in cgi it helps to give realism to organic materials such as skin etc.), which is render time consuming, but its one of these things that can be faked for more menagable render times, just do the same thing as in the game engines ffs. Also they completly removed grass from some scenes, replacing it with simple straight ground with most basic texture they could find. Are we back in 2012? No wait, even back then some companies actually put effort into their animated series, despite older technology and techniques. Also again we see a sign of missing art direction, cause we can see grass in some scenes, while in others it dissapears, probably bcs those scenes took too long to render and its the most effortless optimization -.- I won't criticize animation itself, bcs i know how hard and time consuming it is, and actually expected it to drop in quality for the show, you can't mocap ponies :D. Also the heck character designer thought when choosing colors for this new pony (the aquamarine blue one)? Did they just randomly generate color code twice and used in them as a base for body and hair? I actually really enjoyed the movie and it just makes me sad and angry, how little care went into this new show, I hope at least writing and stories will be decent (but after seeing the horrendous job the art team behind this made, i doubt it).

It was my fear that choosing 3D for G5's TV series would lead to these kinds of results we're seeing now. The first scene this trailer shown was Zipp flying over the seawater, and I looked at the water, and it doesn't look sophisticated within a 3D environment during the 2020 decade. The graphics definitely looks dated . . . which what I was expecting for this much cut on the budget . . . or this much absence in art direction.

I will admit the trailer looks good and I was always wonder what those crystals do, and I thought they might be a key to something like maybe something good or something bad. But I can't wait to see what this special has in store for us. I got a theory on Posey I think Posey is a descendent of Fluttershy. what do you think about that?

Maybe the reason why Posey gave only a three star review for Mane Melody is because of her dislike of magic, unicorns and pegasus. Especially because the place is run by a pegasi, who is ofc Pipp. It's like she wanted to sabotage Mane Melody so that it can be run by Phyllis again, and so that Pipp leaves Maretime Bay for good.

its interesting i was watching the land rover equestrian championships from lexington,ky today on nbc,and one of the humans was named pipa,and one of the horses was named chipmunk,i found that funny since between 6,and 13 days from now both a g5 ponies special,and chip and dale chipmunks are coming out on streaming services disney+,and netflix,its amazing the coincidence of this,like it seems even nbc is getting us pumped up for chip and,and the g5 ponies,even if these are rival media groups.

The Gen 5 movie was fine but it came out feeling jumbled and kinda wrecked like season 6 of Gen 4 straight out the gate. I really just hope they can make it good.

Sad to say, but from what I have seen and read (including the public available Hasbro investor reports/presentations) Hasbro is focused on selling G5 to a NEW younger audience and not the G4 adult fandom. While I'm more than willing to let the new show stand or fall on its own merits this trailer leaves me in a good measure of doubt. The plot seems rather simplistic. Magic is back, Unicorns are spell slinging, Pegasi are flying and Earth Ponies are... what? With no obvious external display of magic's effect, the Earth Ponies are feeling left out. Then the pony 'Karens' start making noise. 0:45 If your going to make them a cliche' at least make them less bland. Bad feelings 'taint' the earth magic and it starts boiling up. Notice that it is all the Earth Ponies who have hooves trapped? Hitch starts manifesting his 'Earth magic' by talking to animals cause he's all down with the friendship. Lighting strikes the crystal and cracks it.. or I should I say the Earth Ponies piece of the crystal. Earth Ponies must come to accept their Earth Magic and when they do all is well again in Ponyvill... I mean Ponyland. As for the baby dragon? Hasbro executive to character designer: "Make it cute." "No not good enough, I want it cuter." "Close, but make it 20% cuter!" Poor thing has been made so cute it's now just kinda bland.

I'm actually very excited for this! It may not have the best rendering but I can honestly see how they care about the fans to introduce things as a plot, a reintroduction of dragons and which seems to be a thread for Equestria. Tbh I don't expect them to solve the problem in 45 minutes, my guess is that disharmony between the species won't be the total cause of the crystals breaking and they will leave everything in a cliffhanger

it interesting posey from g1 mlp became fluttershy from g4 mlp,so it seems hasbro is going back through their ponies to get new fans,plus i just saw in wheat ridge, colorado,a liquor store called applejack's,plus here in madison,wi where i live there is a liquor store named trixie,just thought this seemed interesting,since it seems hasbro wasn't just joking showing us generation 1 in the 2021 generation mlp movie,but now if they're are bring back mares from g1 like posey,will we see more past generations ponies,from 1-4,probably to give the g5 ponies a history,and more about unity,and group friendships,and how to use magic,since it seems the generation of mlp that didn't have magic was generation 2,since it seemed like a american town with ponies instead of humans,maybe this is when our society of humans became multicolored talking horses,since even the ponies drove cars,and trucks,and unless they were 16,technically they shouldn't have been driving,a bunch of floats in g4 mlp is different,but even then cause the cmc's messed with the steering,even applebloom got stuck in the mud,and we thought babs seed was bad,i guess applejack didn't teach her sister well enough,i wonder if this upcoming special will go deeper into the g4 ponies,like the cmc's,and other's cause i feel the g5 ponies need a good understanding how g4 used magic as ponies,unless they want to be like twilight sparle in episodes like the one wilth the ursa minor bear,and its mother,when twilight showed her early skills with magic,but i would have love to see how sunburst failed magic,while he best friend at the time starlight glimmer probably made him head for the crystal empire,cause her magic was better,but it probably upset celestia,so she sent starlight away,and she founded our town northwest of manehattan,and duped ponies like double diamond,party favor,and sugar belle to give starlight their cutie marks,and this set up starlight on her crazy plan to overthrow celestia,too bad starlight didn't meet sunset shimmer at that time,imagine those 2 mares being bad with all their magic,then starlight would've not been reformed by twilight sparkle,and created a future school for magic,and group friendships,with spike,and the main 4,and then they helped create the younger mane 6 of future students who created strong group friendships,hopefully this upcoming special,and series later goes more into how a society that was multicultural broke down,unless its our human saying that best friends create worst enemies,and knowing how twilight was groomed by celestia to create what most of us would consider a very perfect society,maybe twilight's sorta blindness to many views,doomed her project for the g4 ponies,and i could see how a sorta fog view of group friendships by her father,made sunny have a hard time accepting what her friends like hitch were saying about the past,and the present in the 2021 movie,and now that sunny has revived parts of twilight sparkle's plan for ponyland society of pony earth,and gave the g5 ponies their magic back,luckily sunny,and crew still have season 1 of g5 mlp to keep learning about magic,and group friendships,cause even though the movie was 130 minutes long,and thi special 44,it still need time as twilight sparkle told the cmc's in g4 mlp,and even applejack,and pinkie pie know since they created alot of food,and drink for the g4 ponies,and took them alot of time to rebake some food,and create some drinks,so for the g5 ponies to get this stuff down pat seems almost like creating a basketball game,and giving one team 50,or more points,but asking the other team to play by certain rules,when it might take the other team time to know the rules,not to be picky,just pointing out that this special,and series are just part of the start of these g5 ponies on their journey,and as i've been on certain long road trips even asking if we were there yet didn't help,so i learmed to enjoy the trip more,which made the road trip seem funner,i feel the g4 ponies spoiled us by being 9 seasons,and its many specials,so we've lost some patient waiting for stuff,meaning we seem to becoming rainbow dash,or lightning dust in our need for everything to happen now instead of being patient and letting these g5 ponies come to us,and truly enjoying this new generation,and appreciating what these g5 ponies become,could this need for instant stuff been something that wrecked the g4 ponies,since there is a human saying the faster we live the faster we die,so until i see this g5 ponies special,and series,i may leave my need to know in pondering mode,since how did g4 ponies like starlight,sunset,and twilight get so smart they took their time,and learned their magic,and if sunny wants to keep this tradition,she might to truly slow down,and learn her magic,unless she wants to do her father,and past mentor twilight sparkle bad,and probably recreate the stuff that took the g4 ponies down,and i'm sure the g5 ponies would less than thrilled if this happened,since they just got back group friendships,and magic flowing through their bodies,my point is too enjoy the g5 ponies while they come,and let them run where they want,until we get to a certain point in g5 mlp.

I really think G5 should've have been a different continuity from g4. Aside from the handful of callbacks that can easily be removed, it just feels like there's so little connection between the two, and this being a follow up to g4 just seems to cause so many problems idk. It's not like this story couldn't stand on its own! I guess they just wanted to be able to market the new generation at fans of fim without thinking of the consequences...

Well so far the comics are exploring what seemed to be the ruins of old Equestria... (with what looks like Discord's horn being found on the cover?) so it seems likely to me that the show runners are planning on using this mysterious gap between G4 and G5 as something to pull audiences in and answer slowly as the series goes on, to give it a mystery element. Had they told us everything in the movie... well, that would've been just a terrible exposition dump, and ruined the pacing of the movie. I think they have big plans for the show that will capitalize on that connection during important episodes each season. There is so much potential here. I think it's too soon to make any judgements on whether it should've been a separate continuity or not.
