The part where his Porsche breaks down and the girl walks away, looking frustrated ... I noticed that while she is walking home alone, he gets a ride on a Harley with Jesus. Who got the better deal? That was GREAT! Excellent video of how often Jesus rode by but did not hold out His hand until he was ready to accept it - yet Jesus was always there. Finally, redemption. A hand of rescue. A friend who continues to offer him a ride. Then, he encourages others to come and join THIS family of God. Very well done.

First heard him in Johson City TN in Fall of 1988. Bought this album on cassette and my friends & I listened to it driving home. It was so different then his current music and everyone else's at the time. This song and "Brand New Start" are still 2 of my fav Mylon songs. So natural and honest. Love it

This and Denomination Demolition are my favorite songs by Mylon and Broken Heart. I'm not a person of strong faith, but these songs make me want to be. This song says finding Jesus doesn't just happen, it's a journey you have to take. Like he says, "I'm no stranger to danger but I'm gonna be," meaning he's not there yet, but he's on his way, leaving the bad life he led behind, on his way to something better.

Some of my favorite lines: "It's s the last of the past that I'm finally free of", " I was so tired of living with my back again a wall", and at the end when he says "there's power in the name of Jesus".

I met Mylon in the 80's when I was part of a prayer team at two concerts. This is my favorite. I asked him if the words in the chant are Indian. He said no, Hebrew. 😊 RIP dear friend.

So i looked it up, to see if it was on youtube. I thought it was a new release, What a great song. He sure sounds like Michael McDonald of the Doobies Brothers

Hey! When I was a teenager Mylon was one of my favorite artists! I also became a DJ at the Christian radio station, and played most of his songs (including his family The singing Lefevres) I have seen him in concert so many times! Any time he was at least 1 hr drive I would go. Thanks for the Blast from the Past! What a great video! What a great song! So relevant even today, right?

I remember during Mylon LeFevre and Broken Heart's set at AtlantaFest in 1988 where they attempted to open with 'Trains Up In The Sky'. They tried twice and each time they tried to play the song, they tripped the stage power breakers. Finally, the event stagehands routed power from Mylon's tour bus to the stage for their equipment. When the lights came back up for a third time, Mylon said that 'god didn't want them to play that song'. I remember like it happened last week and that was 35 years ago. R.I.P. Mylon LeFevre.,.......sadly,....after Mylon died, ..............he went no further than you and I are going as I am a proud Athiest again. Religion is a cute and fun idea for a few years, however, the reality is closer to home and more simple. There is no god, and never was.

The Bible says the fool says in his heart there is no God! A fool twice is sad and not nice in God’s eyes. Get saved before you die because you won’t be seeing Mylon where you will go. God help you to make the right choice 😢

@jerrykelsopiano Religion is the greatest scam of all mankind. Created by political swindlers and religious hustlers to control and keep a weak-minded population in line with fictitious consequences for failure to be obedient and lack of respect for authority by way of false promises and exaggerated claims. Pray all you want, you'll never be heard as there has never been anyone at the other end. Religion is for those who have no answers, arguments, and can no longer think for themselves. There is no god,........never was, .........never will be. Why is it that Christians believe that they found the right religion and God, while the billions of others who chose among the thousands of other religions and gods, who don't believe what christians do, got it wrong?? What are the chances?? Why is it that the 'bible' says 'thou shall not kill', when more people are killed 'in the name of God' than for any other reason?? It's always negotiable when done for no other reason than that one.

Great song but it's a rip off of, recording artist "Atlanta Rhythm Section" 1978 song "Imaginary Lover". In the early 80's I went to their concert in Knoxville Tn. Back stage I ask Mylon about this obvious song rip off. He said, " Coincidence" and walked off. Listen for yourself. Surprised he wasn't sued for this. Just saying. lol
@abassplayer4life4 жыл бұрын
This song is in the key of A#m Imaginary Lover is in the key of Am. And the chord progression is completely different. The song may remind you of ARS, but it most certainly is not a rip-off.
