Well, the Xbox can't do sound when it's plugged into a monitor, if you want undo then you have to have speakers (they came with my monitor) if you have speakers watch the video on how to install them (this video)

Can you do an updated video to show if you can get 120hz option to work using an HDMI to DVI cable? Most monitors (Not being the latest and pricey) only support HDMI 1.4 not 2.0 and not being able to go past 60hz. The update back in May gave the option for 120hz but I'm trying to find out if using an adapter or this type of cable will work. I can find monitors that can achieve 144hz or 120hz but only through display port or dvi because the HDMI ports are 1.4 I've been everywhere trying to figure this out but can't find an answer. Also Xbox with 120hz (Why not just get a pc) I just want to get smoother gameplay if at all possible. I understand free sync is supported with the One X as well.

I got a old flat screen monitor with just a VGA input and I got the converters and it had bad quality and pink tint. Took a few days to find out but had to go to settings and change it to rga and sync it to vbs. Fixed the problem

Your monitor sadly doesn't have a HDCP. HDCP its some sort of protection implemented in monitors so data can't be stolen. Most of the monitors with DVI-D and Full HD resolution have that protection, but it seems like you are the unlucky case without the HDCP. The Xbox one requires that protection,if the monitor/TV doesn't have it, then you will get a black screen,all you can do its to get a HDCP remover or better buy a new monitor.

I have a Acer monitor (R240HY) and I know it's very similar looking but this is much more thin in the back. I would start from the model I referenced and maybe you could start there? Unfortunately I don't know this specific model.

I connected my xbox one s to a Samsung S22C300 monitor via HDMI but I have no sound. This monitor has no speakers that I am aware of and there is no area to plug in other speakers that I do have. I do have an "RGB IN" port though in the back of the monitor. Would a Digital to Audio converter be something I would need in this case? Thank you

No you don't need to hook the monitor to a computer if you just want to use the monitor for your Xbox One. But if you want to change from your computer to the xbox screen in the settings you can.
