100K Sub Special: 1970s TV with Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, Switch & PC

Hi, this video is to celebrate 100k subscribers. I show the Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, Nintendo Switch and an Alienware gaming PC working on a 1970s JVC Videosphere TV.

OMG! I had the very same TV when I was a kid! I had it for almost 50 years then gave it to my daughter. She still uses it in her kitchen to this very day! Holy crap I'm old! lol

Dude you are so freaking lucky to have this tv, I was a boy in the 70s and I've never seen this tv ever. If I had this tv I would keep it forever, freaking coolest 1970s tv I've ever seen ever. I had a robot 8 track player and I had a cool radio that was round, but never a tv like this. Abosolutly freaking insane awesome. Lucky

The good ole crt. They look great with a good signal. My brother and I used to rig up old tv’s we found in the trash with Nintendo and Super Nintendo. We would strip wires and tie them to the antenna to get an RF signal. Did that when we were camping with a Sony watchman. Little portable tv. The old CRT tv’s don’t have pixels as such. The game systems output with digital pixel resolution, but the tv just interprets the signal and has light projection in lines that scan across the screen. That’s part of why digital tv’s now are so sharp compared to old tv’s. Projects a more smooth image.

back in the ps2 and xbox original days i had to do this with my ancient 1981 mitsubishi tv, the local dollar store had the proper switches and i used my VCR exactly like this to make it work. I knew before clicking the link from kotaku what vince did to make it work haha

You know what's amazing is that the developers of this TV only could have imagined and probably wished for today's graphics to be displayed on their TV. Their dream in a sense has been accomplished. That's amazing how clear the image was on this 40 year old TV! I'm actually blown away! I would have never guessed it would be so crisp and clean of an image. Cuphead should have been released with a option to switch to a black & white / Monochrome display format. I think it does indeed make it even better! Congrats on 100k subs! You deserve it! Impressive! Back in the early days of the Apple ][ the only way to get video out was via an RF modulator, so I’m very familiar with using RF input to older TVs. However, never in a million years could I have conceived of the Rube Goldberg setup you devised. Great show!!! 👍👍👍👍
