Great vid. Your set up and everything you did was sensible and practical . Refreshing to finally see someone else use the 'feed the long log into the fire system.' For me though, I find that it does burn better with two logs side by side which also makes for a good platform to rest a pan when you are cooking or a kettle etc. Never thought though of actually having it inside your shelter like that.....loved it. Thanks for the great idea.

well I think I do more nature shots and scenes for mood than any other big bushcraft channel out there. I always did. But could I do more? Yes I probably could. Its been about taking out the highlights so far not to be monotonous and making the crafting too prominent. In my videos which focus on building things (which is central for my channel) its hard to put in to much mood without breaking that delicate red line that must hold throughout the work and make the end product not feel amateurishly fragmented. Its also about having the time, shooting everything yourselves, dealing with weather, seasons and light, and having enough battery life. Videos I did with not so much building and crafting, and more hiking and being in nature, then its so much easier to do this. This has been a question emerging these last 6 months. How much can I put in it? And thanks for your opinion. I will think about this.

I think you are on to something here. I think you want me to aim for a more subjective feel...which actually was the goal from the start, but that has become a secondary objective over the years with all my ideas for building things. Maybe this is the way forward. Thank you so much!

Still gotta get back on my fb (if i can get in that be!) and head over to your group. someone told me one of my vids was shared there. BTW, I recently set up one half with only 3 tent pole insterts in a very low profile stealthy setup if you want to swing by and check, it was fun and I intend to play around with that setup more in the future. Was on ebay last night checking out the hungarian ones ... despite having NO budget for one at all! haha, its addictive Cheers!

Very nice saw, I really liked that one. So really all you need is just the blade and a good knife. You probably didn't even need the laplander. Have you ever tried just using a large tree as the center pole for the lavvu it would give you a place to keep all you things off the ground and would reduce the workload of setting up and moving etc. Cheers Tom

These days it seems everyone is gaga over paracord, but I don't think you ever use it ... any particular reason? Love all your vids .. Thanks so much, and please keep 'em comin'!

paracord is more suitable where it originates. In the Army. In survival. I just need to lash poles etc and need no stretch in the material. With minimal lashing you get an instant tight lash with tarred bankline that is snug and solid that doesn't age by water and sun for years. Cant even be compared to paracord. Thanks!

Excuse my ignorance by why do you always have fires on rocks and not on the ground? We don’t usually do this in Canada.
@Swedwoods

Elevated fires on a rock/rocks ignites easier in wet conditions, heats and burn better, is safer for yourself sleeping beside it, no chance at all starting a forest fire, and most importantly leaves no trace on the ground.
