I am out of town for two weeks out of four. Been playing stand up bass since 1966. a travel Bass might be a fun thing and help me learn abt electric basses.

I don't rate it highly in terms of audio capabilities, although it is quite convenient and small in size that can be easily carried anywhere.

Okay so I already have a Laney R500-115 which is freaking HUGE. I just need a small amp to carry around for practicing at home and this amp seems perfect for this job. Would love to get your input on this tho

The Laney is 500W at around 50lbs, right? Yeah, that's definitely big enough to be annoying for home use. That being said, this little amp is super small and not very loud (only 3W). So if you need something battery powered and super portable (2lbs), the FLY3BASS fits. But if you want to work on your tone at home and can go a little bigger (with a cord), you may want to check out 10-15 watt amps. I would imagine they will be around 10-15lbs, which isn't much. Hope this helps.

Can you do a review on a Laney Mini Bass NeXus? I think it might be comparable to this amp.

I can ask them if they're interested in sending one for review. Ya never know😺

Don't waist your money! I had one of these with the extension cab a couple of years ago, the line-out sounded fine and useable for recording demos and stuff but that is all. The extension cab is a waist of time, it adds nothing to the volume or headroom. My advise is to save up and get a real bass amp, not this toy one.

Thanks for your opinion. As I said in the video, I wasn't able to test the extension cab, so it's good to hear from someone who had it. Personally, I think it's a cool little amp for its own specific reasons. For instance, practicing somewhere that doesn't have power or in a setting where you can't have a power cord laying across the floor. I like plopping it on the couch next to me so I can practice quickly and casually on the fly. Life is busy these days and being able to practice for 15-30 minutes at a time is valuable to me. In that sense, its convenience is a big plus. That being said, I agree that this little amp doesn't replace a normal size amp. I have many bass amps here in my studio, so having something very specific and portable is useful in its own way.
