yep, that plastic piece you omitted under the spring, as you noted, is to prevent the eventual "creaking" you WILL hear after a while of driving it.

On my '09 C30 I paint all the rotors and calipers with a clear wheel paint before installing. I like the shiny factory bare casting color. So far so good. I'm going on about seven years now without any blemishes in the paint. The calipers still look factory fresh(ish). The rotors are new every couple years, obviously, but I still paint the mounting surface.

I 100% get distracted by organising tools and work space when I should be working on my car. I also still have your throttle body and billet turbo compressor wheel on my shelf that I’ve never gotten around to installing on my V50 😂😂😂

I HATE pegboard, but if you HAVE to use it then at least get hooks that have a fat enough diameter so they don't come out of the hole and fall off every time you remove a wrench. Because having to hold the hook in place with your hand to prevent it from coming off gets old REALLY quick. Spoken from five decades of experience. I only used pegboard when I was young and thought that was the answer.

They make these little plastic clips that hold the hooks to the pegboard. Complete game changer! lol MPGA (make pegboard great again)

...wait. You're going with "R-Design" springs. I have an '09 T5 R-Design (stockish), but I know nothing about it's suspension. Are the springs different for R-Design versus a regular T5? What about the fronts? Are they different from the factory than normal T5s, too?

About 10mm lower and a bit stiffer. I have a 08 C30 T5 and replace original springs with Rdesign springs.

The R-design springs are a tad lower than the standard springs. The R-design shocks and struts are also a tad stiffer than the standard offerings. But you wouldn't really notice this without driving the two cars back to back.

Hey! Im looking into doint the awd swap. What difference did you notice on coilovers made for c30 fwd subframe compared to ones made for v50 awd? Im not too keen on buying new ones again :D

The factory AWD rear springs are longer than FWD rear springs. While the factory AWD rear shocks are shorter than FWD rear shocks. If you already have coilovers, the spring components are fine to swap over since you'll have the necessary height adjustability to balance the car. No problem running FWD rear shocks on AWD either, so long as those shocks are designed for a lowered car. Stock FWD rear shocks would be at greater risk for bottoming out. The only different part that you will need to buy are the upper rear shock mounts. As these hold the shock at an angle, while the FWD rear shock mounts are straight and won't allow things to align. If we want to get scientific, we could say FWD rear suspension won't "work" because of the added weight you are applying to the back end. But the difference is less than an adult sitting in the back seat. It all functions just fine.

Im curious about the shock set-up. Can you run those on a stock fwd as i watched original install video and it sounded like it was a good match for the awd. I like the external adjustability option. Thx.

These shocks are shorter than the stock FWD shocks. Which AWD P1 shocks are shorter too. I ran these on my lowered FWD without any problems, but I wouldn't put them on a stock ride height FWD.

Ayoooo what’s the best exhaust system I could get for the automatic 2008 Volvo c30 t5, and if I get an exhaust system can I drive it right when I put it on or fo I need to do something else

I have a sound comparison of every T5 exhaust option here: kzbin.info/aero/PL-_SgeO7iTPNDSr_gPyg6QJUI1mnNJmtH&si=aZ5jFvwGdXF8jvGr Personally, I really like the Elevate 3" exhaust option. But their GT exhaust, previously the Kpax design, is probably the best sounding exhaust available for these cars by being decently quiet at idle and screaming loud on the top end. For a catback exhaust, not need for a tune. But if you replace the downpipe, then you will need a tune to accommodate for the high flow cat or catless setup. At that point, you'll want to add the other bolt ons for the tune as well.

As an example, the torque specs for mounting the twin turbos to the engine on an S80 is 120 inch lbs... So, basically just slightly less than finger tight. You f*ck that up, and you're screwed. I mean, WHO would EVER attach turbos that loose? But... if you tighten them to what you "think" it should be on your own, you've just screwed yourself. So, that's why.
