Knocking on the Dragonforce door back in 2018, these women have already gone through in 2019. Meanwhile, you can say that LOVEBITES is the best unknown band ever. If you see them in their live performances, you will realize what I mean. Japanese heavy metal and hard rock female bands like LOVEBITES, Nemophila and Band Maid are among the best in the world. It can't be said enough over and over again, because these Japanese female musicians have been some of the hardest working musicians in music history for years. 👍 Lovebites has been around since 2016, and the women became more famous worldwide after performing at several major festivals, mainly in Europe, starting in 2018. 2018 - Wacken - Open Air in Germany 2018 - Bloodstock Open Air in England 2019 - Graspop Metal Meeting Festival in Belgium 2019 - Download Festival in Spain In 2020, their career was abruptly interrupted by Corona. But they masterfully overcame the crisis, got married and had babies. In 2021 the founder Miho left the band for personal reasons and it went into a hiatus which lasted until the end of 2022. In the fall of 2022 they found a young fantastic bass player and in 2023 they released a new LP. The new LP reached the 5th place in the Japanese charts. Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world and it is very rare that in these times a rock band comes so far forward. I've been a big LOVEbites fan for 3 years and fans never get enough of it so : S u g g e s t i o n s for next reaction V i d e o 's: (Copy the following sentence lines and enter them into the KZbin search bar, you will find the videos) 🤘🤘 New Songs from the new LOVEBITES - LP Judgement Day : LOVEBITES music video - Judgement Day 2022 🤘🤘 Songs ALL LIVE !!! 50+ years of listening to metal, including Loudness from the 80's, and Lovebites is now my all-time favorite band ever. "Judgement Day" is my favorite song ever. Best dual guitar leads I've ever heard. To me, better than DragonForce and it's not that close. This is a great song you reacted to.

Thanks for the great reaction video! I love seeing how people are surprised, excited, and fascinated when they see Lovebites for the first time. But I think this video isn't the best introduction to Lovebites. (even though I love this song so much) They usually wear gorgeous white dresses and play seriously. Also, their songs are usually not as simple as this song, often containing complex transitions and tempo changes. And the two guitarists harmonize perfectly at insane speed. Every song of Lovebites is sure to blow you away. I look forward to the next reaction to Love Bites.

Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. This is their second video from that album. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing. In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. Their first song with Fami is “Judgement Day” kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2TYeJ2mYrVqeqs The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Here are more clips you should check out: “Set the World on Fire” kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2rdpHtsnqySbMU from their 2021 concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”. “Don’t Bite the Dust” kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXnRfHp7n5Z2g8U, from the same concert; "Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ2TXohjrtB9ebc They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oonLkKiDgp5noLc; Perhaps their greatest masterpiece, a showcase of multi-instrumental virtuosity and even classical dance “A Frozen Serenade” kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5aboYSMqpKFhJo; And their most reacted-to video, “Holy War”: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJikqaN7paqWpNE Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. This link should work: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXPLpaSdnr14d5Y. For a thrasher with heavy Slayer and Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4HGYYuBZdGBo7c includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M. For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6rRn4t6m6qhpLs (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) While you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are four of the most spectacular: "Shadowmaker" kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKPQoJ-kaqyrq9U This is the song that blew up and melted faces all over the world "When Destinies Align" kzbin.info/www/bejne/nn2plp9_bpiJoa8 "Glory to the World" kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6itpXdojaqLfpY "Winds of Transylvania" kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqSoZYiYlLWdnpo. Finally, the audio tracks of some of the new album are up on youtube, and worth checking out. The band clearly came out swinging and wanted to make a statement. Every song on the album is a showcase of their incredible talent and songwriting capabilities. “Stand and Deliver” is a thrasher with a fun video of them in the studio. “Soldier Stands Solitarily”, the final song on the album, is being touted by some as the best thing they’ve done so far-I encourage you to see and decide for yourself! You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

Great reaction, thank you for helping promote the best band this 63 year old has ever heard (and seen…live). They are 5 virtuoso’s. I agree with the comments about your snap judgement of Asami’s vocals. If only you knew how talented she is you would take it back in an instant. As for Dragonforce, believe me, they have been overtaken in the instrumental department by these phenomenal musicians. This song is not typical of their output, but then if you trawl their back catalogue, there is nothing “typical”.

Welcome to the Wolfpack! (the name for the Lovebites fans :D) - Glad to see you fully enjoying the best metal band on the planet. It's great to see more people discovering our ladies! I encourage you to check out some of their live performances too - in my decades of metal fandom, I've never heard cleaner sound out of a band live. Also, they have white gowns that are their usual "Battle Uniforms", one of their newest songs "Stand and Deliver" is one of the few MVs they have done in casual clothes. Some data on the band: The lead singer (Asami) is the group goofball, and is known as "The One and Only Voice" - and metal is a new genre for her vocally. She does a lot of writing, also. Haruna is the drummer - called "The Little Engine" - because she just crushes the drum parts and rhythm section on every song, and she is completely indefatiguable! Miyako is our dark haired guitarist who also does all the background synth and piano work. In addition, she also writes and does everything with that calm, cool professionalism. :) She is called "The Golden Touch" for a reason - everything she touches turns gold. Midori is the blonde guitarist with the amazing hair, and she is called "The Crazy Shredder" - because, well, it is what it says. She's insanely good and aggressive shredder. She also performs in bodybuilding competitions. :) On bass you have the amazingly talented Fami - who doesn't have a nickname yet - but she really has injected even more energy and passion into the group. Fun fact: Fami is the tallest member of the band, at 5'2" tall. :)

If you delve into the wolves den of lovebites I think you'll have second thoughts about the level of vocal skills Asami has, Floor Janson is òn another level compared to most, but Asami, at under 5ft tall, is on the same level both in power and range, but she also uses different styles depending on song tempo. Had to laugh at the end when you said wow, a common response ha haha. Try something from a live show next, holy war is a good choice or Don't bite the dust which is from when they first formed but I must warn you that once bitten forever smitten 🤘🔥🎤🥁🎸🎹🐺🇬🇧

I know this is going to sound a bit excessive but it is my opinion. My ear suggests that this is the best metal band of all time. I don't think in terms of career but in terms of musical quality. They have managed to make listening to any metal band of the past or present "bland". I listened during my youth to the most famous bands that you probably know, and they managed the performance of playing the 80/90's metal style but at a higher level. I even find it surreal or miraculous. They can play any style of metal, rock or hard rock, it seems so easy for them. I have listened to their entire catalog which is exceptional in diversity, quality, and stage performance. I don't know what else to say about this band... If there was a metal heaven, they would be there alone without comparison.

since I was introduced to them by YTs algorythm four years ago, as many more I´m addicted to them, since I´ve been bitten. and they haven´t stop to impress me since then. founded in 2016, first album "awakening from abyss" came out in 2017. how dedicated they are, you can see on the fact, that all their albums, EPs and bluerays were mastered and mixed at finnvox studios/helsinki by the guys, who work for amorphis, nightwish, CoB, stratovarius, sonata arctica and many more. in 2018 they already played wacken as first allfemale japanese metalband. in the same year they won the prestigeous "best newcomer award" from metal hammer magazine. they toured UK with DF and in germany, belgium and france as well. but when they were ready to take over the world with their fantastic third album "electric pentagram" in 2020, big C came. they were able to play some concerts in march of 2021 with restricted crowd in tokyo, but then total lockdown came. on top of that, founder and metal backbone of the band, bassist miho, left the band on friendly terms in august 2021. and singer asami and black haired guitarist miyako married their partners and became mothers. but they didn´t give up. besides daily life routine, they practised, wrote new stuff, held a worldwide public auditioning for a new bassist. and found wonder bassplayer fami. now they are back. stronger, better, faster and fitter with their new and imho best album "judgement day". one thing is even more amazing about them than their musician and vocalist skills: in their whole backcatalogue of around sixty songs now you will not find a single bad, stale or mediocre song. I can´t think of any other band, actual or in the past with that consistency in composing new songs. some recommendations for you: holy war, a frozen serenade, edge of the world, set the world on fire, swan song (with chopin intro), soldier stands solitarily, raise some hell, break the wall and every song from them. live they are even better. wait ´till you see their stage presence. thank you for your fine reaction and congrats for finding them.

This song is more rock-oriented than metal among Love Bites. "Dissonance," "We the United," and "A Frozen Serenade," these three songs are so different in musicality that it's hard to believe they're from the same band. Listening to these songs will make you realize that what you said was wrong.

@@ChadTheDragonLord 様、 I apologize for the misleading expressions in the text of the translation software. I don't think it's wrong, but I think it's more correct to say that "the way of thinking changes". If you're comparing it to Epica, I think ``Nightwish'' and ``Exit Eden'' are more appropriate than Asami who was an R&B singer. I think (I also use translation software to read everyone's opinions, so I apologize if I misunderstood!)

It's probably irrelevant comparing Asami and Floor as their repetoire is very different. Asami has an R'nB background. Of course comparisons with Dragonforce are more pertinent, especially when Herman Li switches from guitar to piano and plays Chopin or Rachmaninoff.... Wait a minute, I haven't seen him do that, it's Miyako of Lovebites (who wrote the music for the song you reacted to). An easy mistake to make when they appeared on stage wearing white dresses together. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4i5qJd9np6crqs

Careful please with some of your quick assumptions which you seem to think can be said out loud after listening to half a song. Assumption number one: you seem to know what Asami the singer must do when she is actually a singer and you are not. Giving a verdict of "inconsistent" after one verse and one chorus of one atypical song and knowing nothing about her artistic range is a bit rash, don't you think? Don't confuse your own taste with someone's abilities; they may have just made a different decision than you expected. Assumption number two: "knocking on Dragonforce's door but not quite there yet". Dude. Lovebites are famous for their over-one-minute guitar solo duels. Listen to some more, and you will notice one thing about their solos vis-à-vis Dragonforce: Lovebites's solos make actual sense, melodically and dynamically, which may be due to them being played by two classically trained pianists (from age 2 and 3 respectively). Again, don't judge after one song, listen to Shadowmaker, Today Is The Day, Rising, Soldier Stands Solitarily, Break The Wall, Above The Black Sea, Under The Red Sky, Set The World On Fire. Okay reaction otherwise.
@GarageYears

Yeah, that comment about Asami was so flippant and way misplaced and just flat out wrong. Normally I would have subscribed to a channel reacting to Lovebites but that sort of snap judgement isn't meaningful or accurate. And I totally agree on that dumb Dragonforce comment regarding the Midori and Miyako. I tried to get into Dragonforce and appreciate some of their music, but being able to go widdle-widdle-widdle really fast, isn't the same as the melodic sensibility and tastefulness that M&M bring to the table. Arrogance isn't a particularly endearing trait, but I fear we saw that in this review, more than anything. Realizing at the end that you saw brilliance, doesn't negative the commentary up to that point. Less talking, more listening and thinking maybe?

Can I just say, welcome to Japan, land of the rising female rock/metal bands. Most of whom you'll never hear, as the majority don't do MV's. You'd be surprised at how popular Japanese bands are becoming, which was started by one Japanese band called Babymetal, who kicked down the door with regards of Japanese bands going overseas and becoming popular. Yes there was X-Japan (the band you were thinking of), but that was in the 80's, but never really started a trend for other bands going overseas and becoming popular. Babymetal were a small band that went overseas, and became popular there, then as a result became popular back in Japan, within the metal scene. A strange thing with Japanese bands is, that they are better live. They seem to have this strange idea that if you can not do it live, you don't do it in the studio. So here are some other Japanese bands for you. NEMOPHILA - REVIVE FATE GEAR - Unbreakable Wings Band Maid - Domination (live), they maybe the best rock bands in the world today. HANABIE - WE LOVE SWEETS Aldious - We Are Galmet - Zero And there are also mixed bands Unlucky Morpheus - Black Pentagram or Angreifer kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXiuiJqDaa6CncU UNDEAD CORPORATION - Gravity(Official Music Video)

After 1990 they disappeared! On 18 June 2018, LOVEBITES won 'BEST NEW BAND' at the Metal Hummer Golden Gods 2018 awards organised by the British metal magazine METAL HUMMER. On 4 August, LOVEBITES performed on the W.E.T stage at WACKEN OPEN AIR 2018, one of the world's largest annual metal festivals in Germany, with the 10,000 capacity venue almost full. "Bloodstack open air 2018(Aug. 10)" also participated. On August 20,2018, LOVEBITES announced that it has partnered with X-ray Touring, one of the largest players in the UK booking agent industry. LOVEBITES toured the Netherlands, Germany, France and UK from November 13-21, 2018. Asami (Vo) of LOVEBITES appeared as a guest on stage at Halestorm "Download Japan 2019(March 21)", singing alongside "Lzzy" Hale on Halestorm's 'Love Bites', which gave the band their name. I participated in "dowload Festival 2019(June 15)". And Asami of LOVEBITES appeared as a guest on stage at Halestorm Download Festival UK 2019, singing alongside "Lzzy" Hale on Halestorm's "Love Bites" again after Japan. LOVEBITES join DragonForce on UK tour 2019(Nov. 2-14). On 2 December 2019, LOVEBITES was the support act for the Tokyo leg of Halestorm's Japan tour. P.S. To be continued, fill in next time.

Feel free to align them with Dragonforce.. they did do a small opening slot on tour with them (if you're looking for something more on the ragged edge with Dragonforce elements, look to the track "Set The World on Fire" from their last album). As you go down the Lovebites rabbit hole you're going to find all manner of gems and their style range, from power and thrash metal, some real seriously good composition with classical and blues elements, inspiration and influences from the likes of Judas Priest, Testament, Slayer, Metallica, Helloween.. this track is but a taste of them in their newest form, and is a fairly standard rock metal track by comparison to the rest of the album (and a fair bit of their catalogue if I'm honest). You're going to love them bud!

Hard not to, when you're listening to Lovebites. And this isn't even one of their best songs. It's more like a fun song for the crowd to sing along to in live shows.
