We are a Veteran owned. Therefore we love to help Veterans and others. MyMove created by 6Degrees enables those with dexterity loss(amputees or any kind of hand function loss) to use Smart-Devices such as computers, cell phones, tablets etc.. Hands Free! Which ultimately allows regaining independence, employability and of course a better quality of life. We would love for you to do a review on the MyMove if you could. Here is a 1 minute demonstration video on how the MyMove works: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYK1ZJZofpifq5o I would love to find time for a quick chat. Thank you and looking forward to potentially collaborating with you. You can contact me by my email at darrenf@6degrees.tech All the best, Darren

I have the Myo. I can concur that I have the same problems with the unlocking feature. They should have it where you need to touch your thumb and pinky together and hold for 2 seconds to lock/unlock it. That way, even if you do it for a second, it won't recognize it until you actually hold the gesture. Like so Thalmic and everyone can see!
@farmvillepolice5 жыл бұрын
A great unlock gesture would be to have the wrist bent in or out like at 3:00, then wave sort of like turning the dial at 3:10. That way you could do it quickly if you wanted - plus how often would you accidentally make that motion?

As another Myo owner, the issues you touched upon in this video are definitely true. Unlocking is an issue because it's still overly sensitive to other gestures. @aritakalo80119 жыл бұрын
The hardware itself would probably work. It is just a EKG arm band measuring electric impulses in the arm muscles. It is not measuring anything directly from the fingers or the hand. Even the fingers are largely controlled by muscles in the forearm. So teoretically even a missing "ghost finger" can be detected, if the muscles operating the finger are working normally in the forearm. Probably need to ask your medical professional about the specifics of your condition. However I don't know, how adaptable to software algorhitms are for the device. So they might get confused by the differing anatomical situation. Then again according to Luke the algorhitms don't work that well even for a five fingered person, so there is that. In my opinion they should make this kind of bio feedback devices always trainable or self-learning. In this case, so that everyone can calibrate it to their specific arm and muscle structure and movement patterns. Otherwise the algorhitms will always be little bit of hit and miss due to variations between persons. They probably think that would not be "consumer friendly", so instead everyone gets the generalised algorhitms.

Shockingly bad video review IMO, I might as well have just read the script. You didn't demonstrate the device in use, or show us many of the things it can do. You didn't show in any practical way how it works (or doesn't). Basically, you didn't put any effort into this review.

Xyos212 It shocks me to see how many people have become illiterate... he's sick, and I doubt that he has the energy to be constantly ready to perfectly show off the product. Stop being lazy and go into the cesspool of free information called the internet and look it up yourselves! You're not paying for this, and it's already tv quality, so if you any complaints, please keep them to yourselves unless they're actually constructive.
@lufferov9 жыл бұрын
***** What does literacy have to do with anything? I did go the internet, that's where this video on KZbin exisits. How is reading more about this product going to demonstrate to me how it works in real life scenarios? That's where video has the advantage over the written word and it's exactly where this particular video fails miserably. As I said, this video is really nothing more than him reading a script via auto-cue. I could have just as easily read that myself on a web page. When I go to watch a video review, I expect to see the product being reviewed in action. I exepect them to show me the gestures being misinterpretted, he describes the act of locking/unlocking it, but at no point does he show it actually working (or not). That's why this video review is lazy!
@matthiasheyrman9 жыл бұрын
Literacy as in the big letters during the introduction that say that Luke is sick! What is an introduction for of not to introduce something, as well as to describe it briefly. In this case, it shows technology, explaining that this is a technological show, the name of the account, and that the speaker is sick. Now, if you think what they're doing is easy, especially while being as such as Luke currently is, then stop being lazy, and do it yourself, and then you'll understand how annoying it is when, during a single off video, the world bitches that it's terrible. I don't understand how you idiots have the audacity to think that you're entitled to everything being perfect in your tiny worlds and your tiny minds. This isn't an advertisement, they aren't bring sponsored to do this. If they wanted to they could've not made this video, but then your worm-like intelligence would start crying and say that you deserve something today. This review isn't lazy, it's quite the opposite, it's tired and sick, give it a week, and of they don't make a better video, which they usually do, then go read the review yourself, unless you truly are illiterate!
@thinkofwhy9 жыл бұрын

The old unlock gesture was bringing your pinky to your thumb. It barely worked at all. Not being able to unlock the device made it quite useless so it makes sense that Thalmic switched to a much easier gesture. I too have the same problems with the Myo unlocking all day long though. Thalmic needs to find a gesture in the middle that is not too easier nor impossible to perform.
@tvolk1319 жыл бұрын
I'd really like to see another review of the Myo now that there's been some time since its initial release. If they've fixed all the gesture problems, I would drop $200 on one of them without a second thought. If these problems are fixed, I'd love to know about it.

I really like this idea. I hope it's able to continue evolving. I do wonder why they went with an arm band though. It seems like there's much more detailed muscle/tendon movement at the wrists and it would feel more natural to work with buttons or touch pads (for locks and modifiers) on the wrists than on the forearms. Maybe the sensors aren't sophisticated enough to work reliably with the wrists just yet?

It is quite cool to imagine this device working, I know I have for about the last 2 years that I have watched it through the development process.
