Great plan and glad we could show you around. For layout, there aren't a lot of boats, new or old, that ticked off as many boxes for us as this one. We feel fortunate to have found her!

Hi AJ . This was like having a personal tour of your beautiful yacht . Love the functional layout & classic design . Having updated electron system, back up controls super important for safety & peace of mind . Can't believe how many systems you need . Always feels like a mini holiday watching your vids . God bless . Mark (Toronto) 💔🧡💛💚💙💜

Hey Mark - thank you! We're so glad to hear that OLOH provides a little getaway 😎 And yeah, a lot of systems. But it all became quite manageable fairly quickly as we got to know the boat. Cheers!

Watching previous video's I always thought you had a nice boat but didn't realize quite how nice until the detailed tour. This was a good idea for a short series on the boat itself. Helps us understand where you're at during the regular video's. Thanks.

I'm always impressed how people, especially younger folks can afford the "upscale" yachting lifestyle. Do you both have "day jobs" to support your habit and/or what business are/were you in when you accumulated the funds needed to support your boating habit? (I won't be offended if you don't want to share this info!!)

gay couples don't have to waste money on kids! We can devote all our funds to ourselves! like yachts and face lifts! Surely you are aware they are a very successful couple! 90% of gay couples worked hard and saved money or invested smart! I'm in the 10% that are not well off!! Maybe they will adopt me?

Good stuff, thanks for sharing. What are your mesh screens at the lower helm station and how much light do they block? I like that you can see out vs full sunbrella fabric that can't be seen out of.
@OLOH
@OLOH 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Craig - glad you enjoyed! Not sure on the material (it came with the boat) but it feels similar to polypropylene and is commonly used. Provides excellent light filtering and privacy in the day, less privacy at night when the interior is lit. While we typically take it down before travel, visibility in good daylight is sufficient enough for limited navigation... say if we are running exclusively from up top but come down to the lower helm once in the marina . Sailrite has a good page on mesh screens at www.sailrite.com/Comparing-Visibility-in-Marine-Mesh. Cheers!

Well presented and great info!! AJ...do your DD's digital panels give you gallons per hour or some type of fuel flow info? Do you have an estimate of approx how much your genset uses per hour? Tim...Artwork looks great. Do you have a site on the web that show more of your creations? Wife and I have been in the arts for about 35 years...different medium..but we appreciate well done pieces! George & Donna
@OLOH
@OLOH 3 жыл бұрын
Hey George - thanks, as always for the kind words. The DDEC panels as their known do show GPH at all times. All of the other expected data is there and available to be shown at the bottom of the screen. You just have to drill down through many menus to select what you wish to display. We typically keep the selectable field set to engine load when we're cruising but scroll through the various other important data pages once an hour or so. The generator seems to have an average usage of around one gph but we have no gauge for that. Shoot us an email and we can give you more info on TIm's art. Thanks again!

Hey guys, Hope all is well, and you all are behaving yourselves!! I wanted to ask make model etc of iPad holder, also is that a suction cup, or screwed in, and has it been a good one for you in rough weather etc? I need to get one and know you guys do your research and I think you said you’ve had that particular one for awhile? Let me know at your convenience and be safe and keep up the great videos, you guys are the best!

Hey Stephen - we use the RAM Twist-Lock Suction Cup Mount with Universal RAM X-Grip Cradle for 12" Large Tablets - RAM-B-166-UN11U. We love it and the suction cup has never let us down, although we haven't been in any awful seas since buying it. We were not eager to drill into our helm and like the versatility of being able to move it between stations. Well worth the $ in our opinion. Cheers!

We have a Jefferson 53 in the San Juan Island at Roche Harbor. It’s a 2003 with caterpillar C2’s for 1400 hp why we need that much horsepower I do not know but it will do 18 kn I believe there’s another 53 Pilot house in the Portland area, but that’s all the Jeffersons I know of on the West Coast. I made several videos in the last two years since we bought the boat let’s stay in touch.

Hello from Chicago! Did you both grow up boating or is this a more learn as you go?
@OLOH
@OLOH 3 жыл бұрын
And hello to you Patrick! While A.J. didn't grow up around boats, he would always coax his Dad into renting one when on vacations near the water. Tim started boating in his 20's when he got a 17' Boston Whaler. So there was some background there but there was a whole lot of "learn as you go" along the way. You'll find a bit more on our story at myoloh.com. Cheers!

Enjoyed the video, can't wait to see more beautiful yacht, except I believe that jasper is the admiral lol. I just took my palm beach gt60 on my first trip from Charleston sc to Tybee Island ga and it was magnificent I was very impressed with the 40 knot top speed although went through alot of fuel but it was fun, I'm glad I hired a captain I have alooot to learn. Only drawback is I think I may need more room like on your yacht, so now I am looking for maybe a Marlow 58, what do you guys think? The pb cost me close to 3 mil to buy and I think I would probably take a huge bath upon trade in, your opinion would be greatly appreciated.
@OLOH
@OLOH 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Thomas - so glad you enjoyed the video and, as we always say, Jasper is the boss - we're just his crew. That trip from Charleston is surely one you will always remember and we're glad to hear you benefited from the captain being along. The time you spend with them will be invaluable. If you're seriously thinking about a different boat, fortunately, the current state of the market might keep the hit from being as bad as you think - though finding the boat you want may be a bit tough. We've got a lot of thoughts on making a move to a a different boat and they're probably best shared on email if you wish to reach out at ahoy@myoloh.com. Cheers!

Nice Jefferson 60. What is the max height? looking for a Great Loop yacht.
@OLOH

Thanks! We're fairly certain you can achieve 19' to the hardtop with the mast folded (it's hinged) and the domes/other gear removed.

@@OLOH Thanks for the reply. Having a hard time finding any video of the engine rooms. Did y’all do a video of the engine rooms and the access. I did watch how you checked the oil.
@OLOH
@OLOH Жыл бұрын
We have not done a video on the ERs. Access is generally very good considering the split setup with the expected tight quarters on the outboard sides. That doesn't really make anything too difficult for routine work other than being a bit tight for dealing with the port water pump, and that's not even too bad. All daily and underway checkpoints are easily accessed and the compromise of the split, for us, balances out with what you gain in the spatial dynamics of the boat. It really does feel impressively large for a 60. If you can make the height work we think it would be a very comfortable and manageable choice for the Loop. Unfortunately, few were made and they seldom come around. A very nice example that you may have seen, DougOut, had multiple offers and just sold in rather short order. Happy to answer any other specific questions you may have. Email is best - ahoy@myoloh.com. Cheers!
