FES uses small amounts of electrical stimulation to allow people with paralysed or
weak muscles to perform functional movements. There are 6 and 10 stimulation
channel versions of the MyoCycle that help suit your needs. The stimulation is
applied via electrode pads placed on the skin over target muscle groups. The
electrical current stimulates the peripheral nerves in the muscle, causing the nerve
to fire. This causes the muscle to contract, using the body’s own potential energy
to perform functional movement.
The intuitive interface makes the MyoCycle as easy to use as a standard
exercise bike with clear displays and simple controls. Workout summaries are
automatically updated in the cloud and the data is used to update users on their
weekly progress and performance.
