i don't think he is "epic" but "full" and "honest" when you know the full story of MIR that's the type of guy she needed, someone that she know will not betray her and see her as a normal girl (even if she is much more older than him) he say it himself in the last scene when she said that "he seen her memory, she is incapable of loving human" he answer that " the more he looked into it the less he loved humans but she accepted him!" and when she said that he was trying to confuse her with words he begin this song IN HYMNOS because that's a language that "can't lie" even if it's a very dificult language for "non reivateils" it's why after the song she asked him when did he learned hymnos and that he answered that was "only recently" and that he "only learned hymnos for this song" he just wanted to show her his heart so that she wont feel she is tricked again ( hymnos don't lie) so that she can believe him!

well MIR was never a bad girl she was a tool that got humans feeling and when she go them she was seen as a "defective produce" sealed and had seen the only person that was on her side killed! She was a tragic heroine! so in the first game she act with anger and rage of what the human had done to her and her " lover" lyner journey was to show her that all the humans are not like that ans in the second game croix journey was to show her ( even if she was still verry dubious) that good hearts exist and even love for her! It's why MIR in this song is full of doubt and just star to " open" to croix and it's why she said that " she will never said forever ( for love) she don't believe in this concept and when croix told her he neither but right now his love is real and that's not a lie!" and she giggle try to act tought ( even if she is on her knees) telling hil he is stupid but still open up and said that right now she have the same feeling and after that return with him to the tower of ar tonelico to see if she can see things in another way now! And open up to lyner and shurelia!

@@WillemLin-lc7fc neither in japanese it's written ku-ro-ha because of the dificulty to said stranger languages for japanese but the closest would be "croix" ( will not saying the X and Chroah with japanese prononciation would be "cuhuroha or cuhurohahu" so croix is the most close even more " croix" is a french world ( a real one) the translation in english would be "cross"!

NekoNekoMe123 because Hymmnos is a language for Reyvatails, which can only be female due to the repressions that the Y sex gene imposes. Basically - because no man has ever sung in Hymmnos, or had a reason to. That is why this song is so romantic. Croix learned hymns JUST to confess his feelings to Mir.

ChewOnMyWenis There's actually been males before that sung in Hymmnos: all Moon Chanters could do so in either the oldest forms of Hymmnos or Carmena Foreluna (a good example being Dian, Claire's first love in her Hymmnos Musical), and most of the Knights of Elemia, Lyner included, have to learn Hymmnos in order to do things like opening the gates that divide the First Tower's sectors.

Nah. I'd say its Bcause from all 3, he seems like the most human(A lot because he isnt as much as a main character as the others, getting to be almost a side protagonist). When you think of Lyner and Aoto, you think of something like : "Oh, my god, its necessary to do ..... to accomplish our goals." Lyner/Aoto goes with his current companions and do .... In many moments of the story, Croix appears as clearly powerless in front of the sucession of events, rendering him to rely on someone (usually the Holy Maidens, the true Main Characters). That makes him a lot more realistic and creative, as we see he's playing a specific role for his bios.

I just experienced this ending for the first time. I normally do not like romance in video games. If there's a "forever alone" option, I will choose that. On my first playthrough of AT2, I wound up with Cocona's ending. This time, I wanted to see more of the cosmosphere and endings, mostly out of curiosity. Cloche's was kinda cringe, not gonna lie. Played out exactly how I expected a JRPG romance to play out. But this one just hit different. This scene where Croix sings with Jakuri is just the best thing they could have done for this ending. The feels were real. 😭 Croix just might be one of the best JRPG protagonists of all time, just sayin'

+Mario Montana i know i too love some songs who are not hymmnos ( 2 from MIR i love shitose san voice it's the songs the hearts speaks and exec_rig=veda/. ) i too love Akiko shikata ( misha ( at1) , cloche ( at2) and saki ( at3) ) but i'm fan of shikata san for a pretty long time ( not only in game music) it's my "goddess voice" ( i call her ( myself) " tenchi no koe") i was saying that only because in the game " hymmnos" are only two things a language and special song that must be " installed in a reyvateil instalation port" even the " magical song" are not for many hymmnos even if they ARE singer in hymmnos ( battle song for exemple) but if i remember well only a small number of song you heard in the game are not hymmnos the song of clair ( sonosaki no uta if i remember well) in AT1, rig veda AT 1, the heart speaks AT 2 and the song of the two sister mothers reisha ( reisha lullaby if i remember) i don't remember one in AT3 ( if i remember well ( not sur) cocona sing a song that is not and hymmnos but not sur)! Mario Montana i know mario ar tonelico was in first one of my favorite RPG ( i really love guts RPGs) so i know i know but i like " hymnnos" too! To be honest my fav Ar tonelico is the second one and i really like 2 character in this one " jakuri" (Mir) and croix but i hete cloche ( even if i love shikata-san) and maybe partly because of Mir but in my 5 fav songs 4 are with Mir (last one is chronicle key (Misha)) but i think my 2 fav are exec rig veda ( mir) and " the hearts speaks" ( forgot the japanese name) ( croix & Mir)! what i was speaking is for the real " hymmnos" thing in short old an powerfull song that must be " installed" in the instalation,port of a reyvateil or " magic song" ( even if it's more " programming" songs in the lore) created by reyvateils for exemple exec_harmonious for what i remember only exec rig=veda has powers even if not in hynnos ( same power has harmonious calming the heart) i dont remember any other one ( the song of claire for exemple have no power it's only " to sing for peoples" so her song calme peoples but not because of a " power" because of music! It was what i was meaning when saying " hymmnos in japanese" i don't count song like the song of claire ( and event the song of croix) as "hymmnos" just as " song" even the song of croix can make Mir " feel his heart" because like she said before "hymmnos ( language) don't lie" so for croix to learn " hymmnos" ( who is dificult) just for " make a song that don't lie to convey his feeling to Mir" is not the power of any programmation made on any tower with "programation code" (hymmnos) it's only the power of ... While everyone really has trouble standing up to Croix, the Ar Tonelico characters ALL feel realistic. Aoto Cares enough about those around him that he will save anyone, even those he doesn't know. I can't say much for Lyner, as it has been over two years since I played the original Ar Tonelico... Croix stands out so much because he is such a great character! Ar Tonelico is such a great series because the characters feel ALIVE, which is more than I can say for some games... (FF13 anyone?)

I know it's been a looooong time, but I'm surprised Croix was more memorable than Lyner to you, regardless of how long ago you played AT1. This song was legit the only thing I remember about Croix. Albeit it's a great highlight of his character, the protagonist of AT2 wasn't nearly as relevant to the story as Lyner in AT1. AT2 was mainly about the reyvateils, while AT1 was actually about Lyner's journey.

You can't go past Luca or Cloche's level 5 cosmosphere. The game will make you pick one or the other at a certain point before you even get to Mir, and the one you didn't choose will automatically stop progressing at the end of lvl 5. The one you chose, however will ask you at the end of lvl 5 if you want to commit or stop. If you want to go with Mir, you must choose the option to stop there. Keep in mind Mir also requires more talk topics than the other girls to advance through her cosmosphere.

Yes, I'm the one and the same, and on the contrary, I'm thankful for these words. ^^ By the way, although we don't have any conclusive proof for any of the endings being canon, there's something I can say: Aurica's route is the canon path for At1, as Jakuri mentions during At2 in the conversations with Spica that Lyner defeated Falss and that is something that never happens in Misha's route. However, that still leaves the doubt of if Aurica or Shurelia's ending is the canon one.

It's a singer called Dahna. Croix's JP voice actor is Koji Yusa. And additionally, the voice actors have never sung any of the songs for the characters they voiced in Ar tonelico.

It wasn't outright stated, but in one of the external materials where the characters got together and chatted with the fans(Really, devs answering questions about stuff people sent in) Some of the other characters said that Croix and Mir were not going to answer stuff that time because they were traveling the world together. But it's not their fault, Croix is that rare as a Main character and as part of a romance. Comparing is inevitable, and he wins by a large margin.

Actually, a genetic relationship to an Origin has nothing to do with her power. Mir is essentially the same as a computer with an overclocked CPU, which allows her to execute her songs at speeds that surpass those of Shurelia by mere miliseconds, which added to the fact that the Dynamic H-Waves she emits for their execution have a higher degree of purity in comparison to any other Reyvateils, allowing her songs to be entirely focused on her core feelings...

unless they made another game, all three endings are cannon. now in shadow hearts series, there were two endings in the first game, however the bad ending was cannon whereas the true wasnt (based on the second game), and the second game cannon (ironicly) is that he gets to change the past in the first game. so we cant really say with these games sadly.

I find it notably interesting that, while not a song-magic, and thusly not requiring an emotion verb, the fact that it doesn't have a single one, especially in Central Note, is somewhat odd.

Ah, I really had conflicted feelings with Mir, I love down to earth and witty girls, but I got the feeling she was made to just be a side character and in the end it would be kinda rushed due to her late joining in the party and since the other two girls were more involved in the story (and she looked Lolish to me, maybe even more than Cocona who was supposed to fill that role) - Oh but after I saw this, SOLD GODDAMNIT, it would be a waste if the ending that outshined the rest wasn´t the canon.

Nope. The Towers don't even form an actual triangle, and the Cosmosphere host is different in every game, as it depends entirely on which Song Server the Reyvateil uses to draw her power: in At1, it's Ar tonelico. In At2, it's Ar tonelico relayed through Sol Marta for the Standard Reyvateils and Infel Phira for the IPDs, and in At3, it's Harvestasya.

She doesn't hold enough resentment to kill someone again now. She already did enough killing back when she started the war with Shurelia centuries ago (note, sorry for continuing the spoil, but if you've already at least seen all of the first game, you should already tell who this is by looks alone) so there isn't really anything else to make her go back to killing someone unless this end is canon (which in no way isn't) and Croix is murdered.

Ok, in normal cases this is true. But they say that Mir is the strongest of all pureblood - betas. So i think she is closer related to Shurelia as every other Rayvatail. And if you put a picture of Mit and Shurelia next to each other, they look similar. And their singing voice is the same. That leads to my theory, thar they are some kind of maybe halfsisters.
