For Anyone who does not know the language that is used in this video, please note that the language is called "Hymnos" a language that was made up for this game. it is mixture of many different language, if I am right Italian, German, French, Japanese, etc. Hymnos is a language made to emphasize on emotions than any other languages, thus the reason why it could create such amazing songs

@@th1cc It's not exactly that it's complex, rather ambiguous. Hymmnos has no conjugation markers, so in the lack of any time-marking words, tense is entirely up to interpretation. It also has a rather limited vocabulary and instead channels most of its meaning through the emotion words. A proper translation has to correctly interpret the emotion words to retranslate their nuance into the rest of the sentence the way normal human languages work.

I originally actually found this song not from the game itself, but from a link in some fiction on the site Royalroad funnily enough, back when it first changed from a translation site to one for hosting original fiction. I listened to this while reading a chapter of that years and years ago, and it was almost a religious experience lmao. I've kept coming back periodically to Ar Tonelico music over the years ever since.

@toomarin It has been mentioned by earlier commentators as the language sung is Hymmnos which is a language that is used almost exclusively by Reyvateils (an artificial humanoid race that are all women) in the Ar Tonelico series. The language itself is soft of a distant descendant of the English language with influences from the Japanese, Sanskrit and German languages. Hope that helps~!

"Hymmnos chanting" is a kind of song just between "magic spell" and "computer machine language"......so this song sounds like a hymn, and it also has a title like a computer program. And, more importantly, this song (include lyrics and music) is created all by KOKIA(吉田亞紀子) herself!

Did you play the game.? I assume you're not playing it, ja.? What you said is half right as the race that capable to song this language is an artificial life forms. The original 3 reyvateil (later know as the 3 tower goddess) are created from scrath by scientists. Eventhough hymmnos is the language that spreadly used at first but as the great war happened, hymmnos become forgotten little by little till when the first tower of ar-tonelico builted, the scientist use that language again to controlling and communicating the tower that government by goddess by adding a language system that only accessible by reyvateils. The one that make this language is trully great. They compose new language not only the words, they also make history behind it and dialects/pronounce to speak hymmnos.
