I have the exact "65" fastback color combo and wheels sitting in my garage. I bought it off the original owner in 1980 for $2000.00 and it was in excellent condition. One thing I did was to drop a 4 speed toploader in and beefed up the 289 motor. It now has 48,000 original miles and turns heads every time I take it for a spin. I'm 72 years old and I still LOVE this car!!!!

Love the color combo! Nicely done car too! I have a '66 F100 Promotional Sales truck that color with Wimbledon White 2-tone. One of only around 10 known to exist. I have had quite a few collectible Ford's and Mercury's that color Poppy Red, Competition Orange, Calypso Coral multiple names were used depending on what it was on.

Yes, Poppy Red is basically the same thing as what Chevrolet called Hugger Orange.
