I had a pet mourning dove for 21 years. His name was Fred and he thought I was his mate. I got a lot of courtship dances! lol He would not eat safflower seeds. I remember once a pet shop clerk told me doves loves them, so I bought some, but Fred would not touch them. He wouldn't eat sunflower seeds either. He only liked small seeds so I had to put vitamins in his water to make sure he got enough nutrients. Your videos remind me of my dove who I miss very much. I remember him landing on my hand like this and he'd put out his feet right before he landed just like Myrtle does. Love seeing the doves in your videos. Doves are so much fun as you know!

🕊️Awww, that’s so nice, thank you! 21 years? Wow! Hope I’m that lucky. I had a cockatiel named Fred, and he lived to be 28. His wife Angel, 25. Sounds like you had an amazing bond with your Fred. ❤️ That ‘Throw back Thursday’ video was almost a year ago and both Myrtle and Dovey no longer like safflower seeds! I don’t get it lol! 😆
