This was a very interesting travelogue, John. I like the way you find the most interesting campsites, and this was a look at a lot of them. If I was single, I’d be doing mostly like you are. My wife can’t seem to camp anywhere that does not have full hook-ups, though. I’m looking forward to your further adventures. Happy Camping!

The tree is like that probably from early settlers possibly Indians marking trails. If you follow the line of the bent trunk in a distance you should find other trees also bent making the trail in heavily woods. Early travelers would bend young trees and tie the tree trunk so it would grow that direction as permanent trail markers.
