That's why all I buy now is military pants. They have knee and crotch reinforcements. I work construction. So I burn through pants like crazy. Hell, I even bust through them eventually. But they last way longer.

Old jeans used to have that. At least in my area, E Eu, but i saw it go away about 10-15 years ago. Now only thin jeans that break ina a few months... that is the average quality... but hey.. we have "fast fashion" now....

@f.d.66677 ай бұрын
50 washes or more, when using the right adhesive. No stitching required. If you catch it before the fabric tears and use material from the shin area of a non-distressed pair of "donor" jeans, the fix lasts basically forever. Learnt this from the upholstery guys in a company I used to work for in the 1980s...

True. They will just rip about a half inch over to the right, at the place where the fabric has turned from blue to white. Although this was a very good job done on the actual repair, imo, she should have moved that machine work out, and over that area, as well. If you see blue jean denim that's been worn "white", it's thread structure has become very weak.

I learned a faster / lazier approach when working in the upholstery department of a furniture maker: use contact cement (contact glue - solvent based), apply around the weak / torn area (inner / rear side) and to a patch of the same size (same fabric). When "dry", press together and whack patched area with a rubber mallet to reach final strength immediately. Holds 50+ washes, costs next to nothing & takes less than 10 mins. to finalize.
