I purchased my first home last May. The lawn was half Bermuda and half dallisgrass. I glyphosated the entire yard and started with a blank slate. I replanted with tall fescue in the fall and it came in nice and thick. I look forward to having a full season with my new lawn and the learning process that comes with it. Wow.. HOW DO I START. My hopes this year are to save the grass and not have to do a nuke option. I purchased my home after my dad passed him and I put down the sod with my childhood friends in 1989 so I have a huge connection to the turf. This is my first full year of taking on the turf and trying to restore it to its glory. Purchased tools since august last year. Toro Time master, Earth way spreader, Ego electric trimmer, high quality hoses, impact sprinklers, water timer and Two flamingos. Last fall I fired my lawn fert company and took things over myself. August of last year I cut low, thatched, aerated and over seeded with GCI TTTF without do a sold test to start. This spring my goal is to build my soil and tackle weeds with vengeance! I just want to say thank you and all the others for excellent content and giving me the confidence to tackle this myself. i had to type this quick before the boss sees me.. lol

I'm using a hose end sprayer. I've used both the chameleon and the John Perry modified Ortho (i.e. filter cut out). Honestly I had less clogging issues with the chameleon. I may splurge and try one of the expensive blue mule ones if I hear they work well for the NeXT products and I can hide from the wife. I'm sure I will try out X-Green and/or X-Start too. I'd like to start a test plot in my back yard too. Too many ideas, but I can't wait till it warms up!

Great video and I am geeking out over the dashboard 😂! This year I am trying to “even out” my lawn. We have patches of older lawn (planted before we moved in) and areas of new growth from seed planted last fall. It’s a whole hodgepodge of different seed. The blades on the older grass turned yellow this winter so we’re trying to figure out the cause. Any ideas? I bet that handy soil kit would give us an idea, you know, after we put it in and pull it out. 😂

My second season of doing the lawn on my own. Prior to this I was living in NYC with no lawn. My first year went well and the lawn is still kinda dark after my last app of the season in October here in Illinois. Plus, the probe pulls out more than I do. *zing*
