I agree with the logic that earlier folks were not obsessed with accuracy of pi. I have long held the belief even circle being 360degrees is with this same logic. 360 can be split in all parts from 1 to 9 equally except 7. And 7 can be approximated if really needed

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manu_(Hinduism). Sir I somehow feel just like Dhruva is north pole and constant with respect to earth, Uttanpada is constant with respect to a larger celestial object and Manu is contant with respect to the universe. The more I read this literature and associate to stars, the more logical it seems.

First thing required for a researcher is keep onself miles away from prejudice and this is what is lacking in most modern researchers. They first decide what is to be concluded and do research to prove their conclusion. Thank you NNO sir for your open minded approach which help us knowing the roots of sciences. Your submission in 48:00 of the talk makes it clear - just an example.

Very interesting & enticing dialogue. It would have been helpful if Nilesh ji had explained little more on celestial radius & nautical mile. The design, location of temples and their relation to observable astronomical phenomena, the astronomical aspects to time travel, speed of travel in ancient indian scripts could have been discussed. It reported that chinese observed some massive explosion of stars and supernovae then why they aren't spoken about in indian texts? How astronomy, season change and ayurved can be correlated?

Though the shortest day occurs at winter solstice, currently Dec 20/21, the latest sunrise occurs closer to mid January. Question is whether Indians marked uttarayana on the basis of time of sunrise rather than shortest day which needs two observations, sunrise and sunset, and sunset are not that easy to observe as the sunrise. Human eye is more accurate when it is exposed to darkness to light rather than light to darkness.

Nileshji and dixitji, have you tried to get in touch with Dr. Amit Goswami to get your theories into academic circles? It is very hard to get academics to look past peer reviewed journals, esp. tenure seeking profs. One look at the mess that Schoch and John Anthony West got into tells the whole story. But a retired physicist with an open mind like Goswami might just be the person you need....

Kentum/Satem divide says that Kentum is older than Satem. The direction is K->S. Kendra will have to be older than center by this argument. Kentum/Satem is a flawed theory, since we see bidirectional change. Eg: Kaisar (Greek ΚΑΙΣΑΡ)->Caesar(Latin)->Kaiser (German)

Spin, Precession and Nutation are related by conservation of angular momentum of the Earth. This, of course, is only approximate and would be true only if the earth is isolated, technically if only a single body in the universe. But other planets affect this through gravitational interaction which is generally classed as tidal effect. Surprisingly the fact that the Moon shows exactly the same side to the Earth is due to tidal coupling and was a mystery until 1966! This was explained by Peter Goldreich in his Ph.D. thesis which was regarded as great accomplishment by none other than Richard Feynman. Tidal effects lock the ratio of orbital period and spin period to a small number if spin rate is not very high in comparison to orbital period.

Obsession has silver lining. Greeks were obsessed with circle as perfect solution to everything which lead to axiomatization of geometry. Indians had obsession with perfection of language and pronunciation which lead to most complete description of language by Panini. Greek obsession lead to Aristotelian Logic while Indian obsession with language lead to Nyaya System of Logic which is actually superior to Aristotelian logic, and was rediscovered as "Fuzzy Logic" in later part of 20th Century. Aristotelian Logic leads to paradoxes when applied to language though works perfectly when applied to finite systems. Nyaya System of Logic doesn't have this defect since it includes so called excluded middle ides at out set since it was developed to be applied to language in the first place. Mathematics needs natural language while natural language doesn't need Mathematics.
