There is a great short film by The Film Board of Canada on the Nahanni. I watched in school as a young kid and again shortly after the year 2000 when the Film Board streamed it from their site free of charge . Filmed in the 1970s… It was in color, and really shows you just how beautiful the area is. Unfortunately the black and white images in this video shortchange the actual beauty…. But this video above is still very enjoyable. Look it up. The Canadian Film Board’s video highlights the life of one old man who each year would hunt for the gold. The headless valley is shown and discussed in it. Look it up… it’s a wonderful film on an amazing river that most will never even hear of. This video (the one posted above and not CFB’s film) dives much deeper into the mysteries of the Nahanni. Brilliant and well worth the time. Thank you!

It's good to see you back, I've watched several videos about the Nahanni National Park and it sounds like a strange place. Personally I think it's a combination of greed (especially with the gold prospectors), animal attacks (people who disappear) and possibly an unknown aggressive tribe who attack strangers. There are stories of that happening in other parts of the world

On the subject of the Naha, I do recommend looking into the Naha/Navajo connection. It's a really interesting study of possible folk memory.

This will give more insight to a generation or two in the life of early American, Scottish travelers across Canada and North America. My dad's paternal line are direct descendants of William Bradford. I have DNA proof, I am Bradford's 10th great granddaughter. My family has been in the Americas at least since the landing of the Mayflower. From my dad, I inherited Scottish 20%, Irish 15%, English 14%, French 3%, Finnish 1%. All the men in my paternal line were two things; colonial militia men and farmers. After that, some of them were fur trappers, miners, glass blowers, or other familial tradesmen. My 2nd great grandpa fought in the Civil War. He mustered out in New York. Then, he moved to Ohio, then Illinois, where my great grandpa was born. Then they moved to Wisconsin, Colorado, South Dakota, and then Montana. In Montana, my great grandpa's occupation was listed on the federal census as, "Government Hunter." Then he was in Keremeos, British Columbia mining gold, and he married my great grandmother. They moved to Oroville, WA, and bought a 300 acre farm and orchard, and had 9 children. My great grandma died in 1935 when my grandpa was 8 years old. He went to live with another family member. My great grandpa remarried and had two more kids. My grandpa grew up working as a laborer in trade for room and board. He was a jack of all trades. He ended up becoming the explosives master at Howe Copper Mine on Lake Chelan in the 1940's. It was the largest copper haul in Washington state history. So, in 1620, my 10th great grandfather left Leiden Holland, to come to Plymouth, MA to seek freedom of thought and religion. And in 1940s, my grandpa, 8 generations after Bradford, is on the West coast mining for copper. WHY did I write all this? Pinnso is one of the few 411ish content creators who tells the story in a way that sounds deliberate and point blank. I can't stand the narrators who embellish the story line to make it seem more macabre. I hope a little glimpse at my own family history can help someone here be able to more clearly visualize early westward migration of Caucasian people.

I think this is a perfect example of how the Earth is not fully discovered. These places are not accessible. There's not a hundred instagram accounts taking pictures in there.

oh yeah, this is a very, very strange area. there is so much weird stuff going on in canada. it's dark and raining atm, perfect setting for a spooky Pinnso video! =)

The pattern is telling. Maybe elements of that hostile tribe still lurk about, alternatively maybe they where victims of animal attacks but the missing heads is indicative that something sinister is going on. Especially given the dangerously rural location.

There are myths from my peoples about the Nahanni. They tell me there are wolves there that are believed to be extinct. Huge wolves. There are mammoths, and a whole new world hidden in the land under the earth with even more animals that haven’t even been discovered yet. The tribe there guard this land from being found and destroyed.

I feel like it's a deranged group of hunters or a cult/drug trafficking group that is in nahanni beheading ppl, or possibly doing rituals having to do w removing the heads of their victims, that would also sorta explain the possessed looking woman walking on all 4s, but I believe the threat in the valley is human, not supernatural or other worldly.

Let’s look at this with logic. The creatures: A giant all white wolf, a dog-bear, mastodons, and other mega fauna sounds like folklore and mythology of the native Americans Indians - how would such a tale start? Well like all folklore it is based on some truth. Homo sapiens enter the americas around 23,000 years ago. Back then the continents was full of mega fauna. One can imagine tales around campfires of any specific hunt versus a formidable beast giving raise to an oral tradition of mythical animals. As for the Naha, it is posible that a tribe of nomadic people can survive deep in the valley, using the cave system as hidden shelters. It is also possible that the Daha people are a fabrication of the local tribe made to protect their land from the encroaching white men. And the killing of some prospectors a way to reinforce such tales. As for the deaths, they all follow a pattern, which points to human activity. There is no predator that would kill its prey and only take the head. NONE! Except for man.
