I was by myself on this trip, but the landowner and my wife were aware of my explorations in the cavern and sinkhole and were prepared to effect an attempted rescue if I was hopelessly dragged even deeper by a mysterious creature while "I found precious" echos softly of the hard limestone walls and settling ripples of the creepy caverns waterway.

Here's a cool idea... String in a low voltage cable down there from the owners house, to power a light and camera. Leave it in there for a few weeks taking time lapse images, to watch what goes on when nobody's there. Maybe some infra red motion detection. See what the racoons and crayfish are up to.

Great job man! This is a fun video for those of us not afraid to crawl underground. It is really cool when you place the camera and crawl ahead in front of it for scale / size perspective of the cave. The land owner is super cool for allowing you to go there too. Roadkill cave is a great name for it. Looking forward to seeing you get past that spot.

Smeagol, where are you Smeagol? Gollum, Gollum! Did you find your precious Smeagol? Or did the nasty Hobbitses take it? Truly Beau this reminded me of Bilbo in Gollum's Cave. You even found the bones of his victims. Too bad you didn't find the One Ring, but then we wouldn't want you to disappear on us. This was an epic adventure. How far did you actually go in there? It is so hard to judge distance when watching this. You do have amazingly steady nerves for what you are doing. I wouldn't do it on a bet. Glad you took us along for the sometimes nerve wracking ride and that you got back out safely. Some of those ceilings and walls looked really unstable.

The water rushing through the nooks, crannies and cavities, makes a deep, murmuring sound. To me, the sound is reminiscent of the monotone, chanting of monks in a low octave. For some, therapeutic, for others a bit unsettling, alone, in such an environment. You're a brave man. Be safe and thanks for the wonderful video.

AMAZING!! That is the first living organism you have found in this underground palace! No bats, no fish or minnows, no insects, no salamanders...yet out of the darkest corner and inside a dark hole is one single crayfish! I was hoping you would find some sort of underground life, and here it is! I am always amazed to see life in such harsh conditions. No sun, no moon, just water and darkness. Not even any algae, Moss, fungus or other similar life forms down here. There are literally no energy available to life down here other than the food particles carried by the water to our friendly crawdad. That’s the energy he consumes to survive in what is otherwise a dark watery grave.

Just what we've been waiting for . The return to the Road Kill Cave ! Afraid to say it , but at 29.42 I think you threw away a piece of Salt Glazed pottery . Loved the very end of the cave . The water was propper gushing out of there from around the corner , where you craned your neck . Some cool looking formations in there to the left . But the back looked to be a solid limestone wall . Yet the water was coming from both the left and right at the same time and tumbling over a tiny weir . Could it be that the stream splits into two from that point on and goes around a big rock feature underground . It just looks really tight there , almost risky tight . you don't wanna get wedged in there do you Chigger ? " Sure you do ! " . That could either be the end of the Road Kill Cave or it could continue from two directions , but it will just be too tight and the water too fast .

The round stone in the centre at 37:07 looks somehow like an ammonite at the short glance. It has some interesting ripples on it.

nice bit of "sporting" streamway you found there. if you can't get much further upstream with a hammer it looks like a quick job for plug and feathers or blasting caps.

Chigg, you always do an excellent job on all the adventures you take us on. Boy , I was exhausted after watching this one though! It is a beautiful and mysterious place to explore so I understand your fascination with the underworld. Spooky! 👻

Glad your out there doing this! No way I would consider going into a cave like that, but I sure love seeing it. Great for artistic inspiration. Stay safe on your journeys to the underworld :) Cool video as always.
