I graduated from high school in 1981. It seems so weird when you say I love these old doors. I realize it was 42 years ago, but to me it seems like a couple years ago. lol

That house was in MINT condition!! I really hope whoever demolishes that house, salvages everything! The front door was beautiful! The kitchen cabinets, light fixers, etc, even the furniture left behind! The appliances looked like they were in MINT condition too! I hope all that stuff is donated!! I wish you would of walked out on the front porch though, & walked around outside with the camera. But thank you for sharing. Beautiful home!

15 minute cities are coming to a town near you. I just saw one in Tempe or mesa arizona. A walkable neighborhood with no parking structures or need for a car. It was apartments, stores, everything all within 15 minutes of the apartments. That’s also why they burned Lahaina to a crisp. A lot of these older larger homes are being destroyed for this very reason.

This was a beautiful house! Still in great condition. Seems like someone moved out just 2 months ago (although I know it’s much much longer than that). I can’t get over how clean it is and the nice furniture/light fixtures left behind. Yeah, the 80’s were all about mirrors. People put mirrors on everything back then. My mom and dad had huge mirror closet doors (which was pretty cool and convenient for getting dressed & ready honestly) and my best friends dining room had a huge mirrored accent wall with gold veining running throughout. It was very beautiful. Definitely helps a room look bigger. My dad was a contractor so he built our house (and my best friend’s parents house as well, among many many other houses and businesses in our area (I live on the east coast now). His specialty was cement, but he did it all. As a matter of fact he was one of the main contractors who built Bob & Dolores Hope’s house in Palm Springs, CA. Palm Springs is considered the “lower desert” and we lived in the “high desert.” Most homes in those areas back then (including ours) was a Spanish Style with the arches and red clay tile roofs. And the indoor decor colors back then were variations of gold/warm yellow, greens, oranges & browns, and creams. Brick was very popular too. And wall paper. Man, I WISH I could go back and see my house or any of my friends houses (untouched, exactly the way they were) back then. What a trip that would be. Homes had so much character all those years ago. Like the beautiful front door in this video. Details we just no longer have, everything is cookie cutter or so expensive no one can afford to customize. The 80’s were the $h!t. Not gonna lie. Anyway, thank you for taking us on this amazing tour Ethan. It was a very cool place. 🫶🏻

Very nice and original '80's home. I love the front doors!😍 It is always cool to see these unchanged originals, they always take me back instantly with memories, of either features we had in our home, or other places I visited during that time period. There were so many different themes, or styles and trends throughout that decade This one does seem to capture the country type theme with some of the decor and features, which is fitting for the location I think. It does look like maybe they were redoing some of the basement. Cool explore! ✌️

Really cool house that deserves another chance at life. Just a few minor upgrades and finishing off the basement and it would be good to go. Nice brick fireplace that would be more perfect centered on that long wall. Love that dining room chandelier and those vintage lights in the bedrooms. I would buy these lights for my own house. Lots of personality. It’s only someone’s love of money above all that brings all the demolition. What fantastic acreage. Could perhaps build some nice stables etc and add some horses. In my dreams only. Ethan thanks for sharing. Take care of yourself be well and always stay safe!

I'm thinking with all the stuff the Owners left behind, that maybe the developer came along and made them an offer they couldn't refuse, so they just grabbed personal effects, and keepsakes, left the rest , and just Baled. and your thoughts that the house has structural issues, is on point also.

The room on the left of the front door was a combination formal living and dining room. The room on tge right with the fireplace is the family room. That wasnt a fireplace in the basement, it was where a wood burning furnace went. In more rural areas they had both types of furnace. That furniture is much newer than the 80s. I lived in a house built 1979 and had thise same awful clamshell sinks. Thanks for the tour. I love architecture myself but i also love the contents. It all goes together to tell the story of the home.
