Mysterious Charles Bridge: Explore this Prague gem

Charles Bridge is the oldest bridge still standing over the Vltava River in Prague and the second oldest bridge in the Czech Republic.
The bridge is 516 meters long, 9.5 meters wide 13 meters high, and is rich in statues and decorative lamps, and it catches the eye immediately with its beautiful Gothic bridge flanked at each end by fortified towers (Lesser Town Bridge Towers and Old Town Bridge Tower). You will find three tens of magnificent statues on the bridge, mounted in two rows.
One of the most interesting statues on Charles Bridge is the Statue of St. John of Nepomuk. It has a huge religious meaning, since it immortalizes the memory of John of Nepomuk, one of the most significant Czech saints. According to a legend, John of Nepomuk was tortured to dea*th after he refused to give away the confessional secret of the queen. And allegedly his tongue stayed preserved hundreds of years after his dea*th thanks to his honesty. Many people believe that it brings luck if you touch the statue…

some say that the Charles Bridge is likely haunted. Supposedly, many have claimed to sight headless figures of influential people, who were executed, roaming the bridge at night. However, I took a walk there at 2 in the morning but could not find any ghosts around.
One of the most popular times to visit Charles Bridge is at sunrise or sunset, when the bridge is less crowded and the light is perfect for photography. During the day, the bridge can get quite busy with tourists, street performers, and vendors selling souvenirs. Despite the crowds, however, the bridge is still a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Prague.
